"No s**t"

1073 Words
I got to her office with glass doors and knock, she hated when you work into her office without so much as knocking. "You're late""came a smooth velvety voice behind the doors. I walked in and I took in the surrounding of her office like I usually do Everytime I came in, the glass windows that gave a great view of the city, her desk sited right in the middle of the very large office, with stacs and stacs of papers, a box of candy and sweet because she had a very sweet tooth, a coffee maker by her right hand side. Moving my eyes back to her, she raised her eyes with glasses sitting on the top of her nose to see me. She assessed my attire as she always didand raise one side of her lips up in a smirk and I knew she liked what she was looking at without her saying it, not that she'd ever say it but I had known her long enough to know she never gave compliments to her employees. "Sit" she pointed to the sit in my front. I sat and looked at her eyes and waited for her to speak. I could have started apologizing and swearing that I would never come late again, but she hated when you spoke without been asked to do so and we both knew I'll always come late. So I sat still while she assessed me waiting for her to speak the first word like always. " I need you to come up with a plan for a meeting we will be having with the other branch before the end of today. The meeting is in two days and I want the draft ready by today so that we could put it in place before the day of the meeting. This is really important to our branch here and I need you to put in your best. Can you do that?" She asked calmly, she always spoke to me like I was her child, though she never smiled at me or commended my work I knew she enjoyef my work and she liked me. "Yes boss, on it"" I replied wincing internally at how high pitched my voice sounded. She used her hand to dismiss me and I walked out of the office dancing and squealing in my heart because I did not loose my job. Leaving the office I let out a very loud breath thanking the stars that I was not jobless right now cause I really needed this job. Going back to my office I sight my best friend in this city, Dana, because I had other best friends outside of the city. "Hey stranger"Dana called me ,she walked up to me to pull into a tight hug like we didn't just see yesterday night. Dana was one of the prettiest girls I had ever seen with her dark hair and smooth caramel skin. We were very different. She was wild and very outgoing while I was semi wild and definitely not outgoing. We met at a club one Friday night. That was the night I had come to the city newly with my break up still fresh on my mind. I was in ruins that night and she had saved me, making me laugh and wiping my drunken tears . I loved her because she was a "I give no s**t" kind of girl and it always worked for her. Just like me she was single and I wondered why because she had it all, the face the body even the attitude, but she did not even care unlike me, she had so many f**k buddies that wanted more from her, but she was not ready to settle down. According to her "why settle for one when you can have two or three or ten" And I mean ten d***s. She had always had my back since I came to this office 6 months ago, even during the phase of my terrible breakup, she had being there, so yes she's my best friend. "Hey Dee" I replied with a genuine smile on my face because I was really happy to see her. "You look really good you b***h, damn your t**s always look nice" yes Dana had no filter. "Dee you look good too, and thank you, but you need to stop mentioning my t**s Everytime I wear a cloth" I replied while taking her in, she was in a white plain t-shirt with corset just like me over it and nothing underneath. She was really confident in her body. I knew I could not pull this look like her because I would always look for something to wear underneath. It's not that I was not confident, I am just a little bit shy and I hated unnecessary attention. "Oh whatever. You know I'll never stop. Anyway I had that you acted drama in the office today"she replies in her deep voice with a smile on her face ready to laugh at me. "Oh words spread so fast around here. "I replied rolling my eyes, "And no I didn't act drama, I was genuinely scared alright, anybody would have acted the same in my condition" I replied arguably. "Yeah sure because everyone just starts crying when they are been told their boss came in before them"Dana says matter -of-factly.. " I didn't cry, that's a strech"I reply laughing. " Knowing you, you would've in front of people you are comfortable with, like me" she replied again, adamant to win this argument. "Oh whatever"I replied already feeling lost. " Anyway when do you close from work I have something to tell you" she continued now excited. "Err.. okay I think, with the work Mrs Jackson gave me today, I'll say 5,6 thereabout." I replied skeptically. "Great I'll wait for you then we would grab a bite together" with a glint in her eyes and the clap of her hands she started walking off. "Dee.. is.. is everything okay?" I replied matching her footsteps and smiling lightly because there are only two things Dana would have wanted to talk about or was this excited about and it was either, New f**k buddy or yes a new f**k buddy. " Oh everything is perfect, just wait for me yea"she replied in a rush to get away. "Alright...... "I replied after she had gone more to myself.
