Scarlet POV The soft hum of the kettle cooling, the warm lights of the kitchen, Liam muttering about how a shopping trip isn’t real unless you leave covered in glitter and regret. “It was actually really fun,” I admit after a moment, setting my mug down. “We laughed a lot. It was... nice. Just being girls, you know?” Liam props his chin in his hand. “I wouldn’t know. But I support you emotionally.” Zain snorts into his own coffee. “And,” I add, smiling a little, “April made me try on a jacket that cost more than my rent.” “Did you buy it?” Liam asks, feigning horror. “God, no,” I laugh. “I nearly cried when I saw the price tag.” He wipes an invisible tear from his cheek. “Proud of you. Financial responsibility is sexy.” Zain just shakes his head, smiling quietly as he watches us.
