Kylie barged into her brother's room. He was taking off his shirt. She sat on his bed, touching her head. She was having an hangover.
"I had so much to drink yesterday" she said.
Brian took off the shirt and toss it into the laundry basket. He knew that she didn't remember anything. Even the fact that he was there last night.
Kylie sprung up from his bed and walked to him.
"Where were you yesterday?" She asked.
"Why are you asking?" He asked, shoving Kylie away. She almost fell. She still didn't leave him. She stood opposite the mirror, blocking him from seeing his reflection.
"You were with a woman, right?" She asked.
"How did she know?" He thought to himself. He wanted to start explaining that it was her that forced herself on him.
"Is she your girlfriend? Do I know her?" She suddenly asked.
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
"You have a red lipstick on your chest" she said. He shoved her aside and stared at it through the mirror. It was really on his chest, the heart region.
"A safe place to kiss you. Both of you will be together forever" she said.
"Get out of my room Kylie. I need to shower. Don't tell this to anyone" he said.
"You'll have to tell me who she is first" he said.
"Her name is rose" he lied.
"Uh uh?"
"Leave!" He said and pushed her out. He slammed the door and locked it behind.
.
.
Jasmine was ready to leave the room. She got home as soon as could. She washed up and changed into something nice.
She styled her hair a little bit and strolled downstairs. She was smiling on the outside but her head was banging on the inside.
She saw her parents waiting outside for their car like they were the president.
"Father" she called out.
"Not now Jasmine" she said. Sophie arrived also and stood beside them. She just exchanged glances with Jas and looked away.
"Dad, I don't want to get married to Fred. Please. I'll do anything you say except to get married to Fred" she said.
Mr Raymond stole a glance from his daughter and looked away. He was still not ready to listen to her.
"Dad" she called out again.
"Shut your mouth. If you mess up this lunch, I'll teach you a lesson" he said, threatening her.
Jasmine had disappointment in her eyes. Her mother touched her hair to calm her down but she still didn't want to.
Their car immediately drove into the compound
Damian rushed in, adjusted his cute bow tie.
A young lady about Jasmine's age walked
"Jasmine! Oh my goodness!" She screamed and rushed to her. Jasmine secretly rolled her eyes. Even if her father was ten times richer than Mr Isaac, he was so excited to see his childhood friend.
Mirabel wrapped her hands around Jasmine and swiftly moved away from her.
"It's so exciting to meet you again after so long" she said.
"Yeah, me too" Jasmine said softly with her cracked voice. She didn't miss anyone. All she wanted to do was to miss the lunch.
"Hey Damian" she greeted Damian also. Damian just waved without saying any word. He didn't want anyone hugging him.
Mr Isaac alighted from the car and shook hands with his friend. He lost his wife years ago in a car accident.
Fred was no where to be found. Jasmine heaved a breath of relief. Since Fred isn't around, she don't need to eat with them. She was feeling sick, because she had too much to drink last night.
"I'll be going to my room now dad. Seems like Fred didn't make it. Enjoy!" Jasmine said and wanted to leave.
"No, he's right behind us. He must have stopped to get something for you" Mr Isaac said. Jas rolled her eyes secretly, wearing a fake smile on her face.
Immediately, a beautiful Benz car pulled over behind Mr Isaac's car.
Fred majestically walked out, with his cute brown hair. Spotless skin. He was looking like god.
He smiled at everyone. Jasmine's mother stared at her daughter.
"You see, Fred is such a handsome boy now. Not that little boy with glasses" she said.
He stretched his hand into the car and brought out flowers.
They gently clapped their hands. Jasmine was still dumbstruck. It had been more than seven years since she saw him last. He was fat with glasses on his face. He looked like a complete failure. Now, he is... Hot, cute, handsome. Everyone wants to touch him, everyone wants to get their hands on his phone number. Now, she understood why he is a playboy. The last time she saw him was on her father's birthday party.
Jasmine wanted him gone. He gently walked to her and handed the flowers to her. The clapping increased, bringing her back to reality. She swallowed hard before taking the flowers from him.
"It's been a long time Jasmine" he said.
"Same" was her simple response. She didn't want to engage in any conversation with him.
While they were all chatting and talking, the chefs were setting the dinning table for lunch already. Jasmine wished she could excuse herself but her father's glare was on her.
The chef arrived at the living room where they all sat.
"Lunch is served" he said.
"Ah, finally!" Mr Raymond said happily. They all walked to the garden to eat. Jasmine's mother made sure Fred and Jasmine sat down together. She wanted them to create a bond.
"Our kids look perfect together" Mr Isaac said, smiling.
Jasmine started to cursed under her breath.
"Jasmine is my best friend. We grew up together. It will be nice to have her as my wife" he said and placed his hand over her hand. Jasmine pulled her hand immediately and scratched the back of her head.
"I'm not ready for marriage now. I have some lessons to do, I even want to open a..."
"Jasmine!" Her father yelled her name. She shook in fear, even everyone at the table.
"You must marry Fred" he said.
"This is the 21st century dad. I can pick whoever I want to marry" she said.
"This is my house and you're my daughter. I will pick a husband for you. End of discussion!" He said.
Jasmine kept quiet. She just boiled from the inside.
"Kids of this generation don't know how things are done in the past" Mr Isaac said and laughed.
"I know right" her father replied and joined in the laughter. Mirabel just smiled. She was still taking pictures of the food to post on the internet.
Damian immediately sprung up.
"I need to go now father. I have a meeting to attend" he said.
"Of course, you can leave" he said. Damian smiled at everyone and left his chair.
"Bye Damian" Mirabel waved and winked at him. He smiled weirdly and left hurriedly.
Jasmine saw that her brother escaped dinner with so much ease.
"Father, I have to meet someone" she said.
"You aren't going anywhere. You should walk Fred around the house if you're bored" he said.
"Of course, you two should get to know each other more" her mother added. Jasmine rolled her eyes and stood up.
"Excuse us" Fred said and followed her behind.
She walked to the main balcony.
They both sat on the sofa there, letting the cool breeze hit their faces.
"I really missed you Jas" he broke the silence in the room.
"So?" She asked.
"Are you still mad at me?" He asked.
Jasmine wore a shocking expression and shot him a hard glare.
"Was that really a question? Am I still mad at you?" She asked and scoffed. She rubbed the entrance of her nose and wanted to keep on talking when her phone rang. She saw it was Kylie. She hurriedly answered it.
"Hey b***h" she said.
"Okay, my brother spent the night with a lady I don't know. He came back this morning, so late but my father didn't suspect anything. He had kisses on his chest. I really can't believe that Brian would have the mindset of spending the night with a girl. I was asking him who the chick was and..."
"Woah woah woah, relax Kylie. Take a deep breath" she said. Kylie paused and took a deep breath. She has a hobby of speaking too fast.
"Don't you think Brian need some privacy?" She asked.
"Of course, he does. But, I really want to know if the so called girl deserve to be with my brother" she asked. Jasmine laughed.
"Oh, just let him be. You'll find out sooner or later" she said.
"How's the lunch going? Is Fred there?" She asked. Jasmine eyed Fred from head to toe and threw her gaze somewhere else.
"Of course, he is" she said.
"Ouch, sorry about that sis. Let's meet up tomorrow" she said.
"I'm going to be busy tomorrow. I have to meet up with dad at the office" she said.
"Oh, that's true" Kylie said in a sad voice.
"Fine, have fun then. Bye!" She said and hurriedly disconnected the call. A smile appeared on Jasmine's face.
"Who was that?" Fred asked, giving his gentleman's look.
"You don't have the right to ask me. Just gather your family and leave. I can't get married to you Fred" she confessed, and stood up.
"I'm sorry about the other night. It was a mistake, I swear" he said and also sprung up, standing opposite her.
"Stop calling it a mistake. You almost r***d me you bastard! You are a playboy. Even my friend know you from wherever the sh!t you're coming from. Go back there and find yourself who to marry" she said and turned to leave.
Fred grabbed her hand and pulled her close to his body.
"You're right, it's no mistake" he said in a whispering tone.
Jasmine shot her eyes wide open. He was also confessing.
He drew his lips closer to her neck.
"I'm obsessed with you. If I don't get a taste of you, I won't rest sweetheart" he said. He pulled away from her, winked and left. Jasmine stood there, dumbstruck. She could believe that he just said that to her. She was right all along. He was a p*****t!
