Chapter 51 - Scares

Nate.

"So I'm starting last next time, and Lina is going 3rd. The other 2 aren't too happy, but f**k it, thats running for you" Bex tells us as we sit around in the TV room watching football. We had pizza delivered when we got home.

'Sorry we missed it Bex, I'd much rather have been there supporting you, than looking after those little munchkins today! God they were hard work!" Ems and Jess are both studying to be Primary school teachers, and at the moment they are on work placements in a crèche, so they only got home 15 minutes ago.

"Don't worry guys, there's plenty more heats to support us in!" Bex is exhausted now, and I realise she needs to sleep.

"OK, Bex, you need sleep. Come on, let's go beautiful" she's practically falling asleep as she stands up. "Come here" I lift her up in my arms, and she curls in to me.

"Look after her Nate" Joe says quietly as I leave the room with Bex.

We get up to our room, and I place her down on the bed. She looks so beautiful, I remove her clothes and just stare at her perfect, beautiful body, and just can't believe she's mine. After all these years of sitting in the background, being secretly head over heals in love with her, she is now mine. I love her unconditionally. I pull the covers up over her, and go and sit at the desk and pull the laptop out. I open my emails, and pull up the new email tab.

Anna,

Thanks for your letter. I think I needed to hear that apology more than I realised.

I'm not angry at you. It was obviously a very confusing and difficult time for you, and I'm sorry you went through that alone.

You're right, me and Bex are very happy, and I don't think anything or anyone could ever make me happier.

You haven't lost your friends, you just need to give them a little time, but reach out to them Anna, you may be surprised.

I hope you and your baby are doing well. I'd like to meet her some time.

I press send, and close the laptop. I strip off and climb in to bed. Bex curls herself around me in her sleep, and I wrap my arms around her and fall in to a peaceful sleep myself.

There's a knock at the door, and Bex grumbles something incomprehensible. I laugh lightly at her and pull her in tighter to me.

"You 2 decent?" Joe shouted from behind the closed door.

"If you mean, will you see my hairy ass, no" I call back.

He opens the door slowly, and peeks around.

"What the f**k do you want Joe? I'm f****d after yesterday, I need a chilled day at home, no pressure" Bex doesn't even open her eyes.

"Good morning to you too sis" Joe laughs. "Actually I wanted to know your breakfast order from Bob's. We are all having a lazy ass day at home, and breakfast from Bob's to start"

"You know I love you Joe. Just get me whatever you reckon please" Bex says, again, not opening her eyes.

"Me too dude, anything" I say, and Joe leaves the room.

"Do I have to move?" Bex asks me

"Not if you dont want to beautiful" I say kissing her on top of her head.

"I have to, I'll seize up otherwise" she laughs, and stretches her legs out and her arms above her head. That beautiful body before me again.

"Don't do that Bex, I'm getting hard just looking at you. I'll go and take a shower in my room, you jump in the shower here, or I won't be able to keep my hands off you" I say, and climb out of bed. Bex groans at the sight of my naked body walking away from her.

"Very mean Nate Bowers, very mean" she groans again and I laugh.

"You need rest Bex, not another work out. Go shower, alone" I walk in to my room and head for the shower. I know only too well that I have a good physique, better than Joe now if I'm honest. All the training I do has helped with that, and now all the s*x is aiding it too. When I step out of rhe shower, and walk in to my room, Harry is sitting in the chair.

"Put some f*****g clothes on Dude, you're putting me to shame" he throws a towel at me and I wrap it around myself, but I don't rush to do so.

"It's my f*****g room, I'll walk around butt naked and scratching my ass if I want dude. What's up?" I grab some clothes from my drawers, drop my towel and get dressed.

"Joe is being a bit off this morning, wondered if he'd said anything to you?" Harry's a good guy, always there for any of us.

"No, but then I haven't seen him properly yet. I'll have a word later ok" Harry jumps up and starts to head out of the room.

"You can come in now Bex, he's finally got some f*****g clothes on!" He shouts through to Bex room.

Harry was right, Joe is a bit off today, so is Ems.

I throw a towel at him and stand up. "Move, we're going down the beach" I look at Bex and she smiles, letting me know she understands.

"What's going on?" I ask as soon as we're outside.

"Ems might be pregnant" he mumbles.

"OK, so you find out for sure and go from there. No point being a d**k. You saw what I went through with Anna, did I behave like you are now?" I say.

"Yeah, but I can't stay as cool as you Nate. I mean, what the f**k am I going to do?!" He's broken.

"This isn't all about you Joe, this is about Ems too. Think about her for a minute. It will affect her a lot more than it will you" I try to make him realise that she is hurting too.

"Yeah, I know. I'll talk to her and get things moving. Thanks Nate. You're always here for me" He seems a little calmer.

"And you were having a go at me about me and Bex not being safe?" I nudge him.

"Ha, yeah, turns out you 2 have it all worked out. I'm not quite sure what happened to be honest dude. We've just been really stupid, and Ems isn't on the pill or anything" he looks totally defeated now.

Joe.

"I need to talk to you Bex" I say as get back to the house

"OK, come on. I got our boards out, we'll go float around for a bit" Bex jumps up. She had a really tough day yesterday, but she's still willing to do this for me.

We head down to the beach behind the house, and paddle out. There's no surf at all today, but this is where we feel happy, floating around on the sea.

"We think Ems might be pregnant" I say without looking at her.

"So go find out for definite then" this is why her and Nate are so good together.

"Yeah, that's what Nate said"

"Yeah, he's not just sexy as f**k is he" she winks at me. "Look, go buy a test or get in to see a doctor and get the test done there. Find out for sure, then decide between you where you go from here. Remember, it's her body, so she needs to feel supported, but you were part of this too, so you are fully involved ok?" I love my twin so much, she's so good with this s**t "and don't lecture me and Nate over using condoms anymore yeah, at least we made other arrangements" she winks again, laughs and heads to the shore.

Joe and Ems found out for definite that she is pregnant.

Everyone was very supportive, but Joe and Ems just couldn't get their heads around it. Thankfully, we had a break from college now, so they had time to think properly.

Not even Harry was making jokes about it, he realised how serious this was for them.

"Bex, if you did get pregnant now, how do you think we'd cope?" We are lying in bed, it's very early, but we haven't been sleeping too well since we found out for sure about Joe and Ems. It had affected every one of us, not just them.

"We'd cope Nate. I know we would. We'd adjust, and we'd cope. We have amazing friends, which is what everyone has proved over these last few weeks if we didn't know before, and one day in the future, I know we will be settled down, jn a house of our own, married, children, our future together" j smile and squeeze her to me tightly.

"You have no idea how much I've wanted to hear you say those words to me beautiful" i kiss her head "I've loved you for so long, sometimes I need to give myself a shake, and check that I'm not dreaming. But yet here you are, in my bed, telling me we will be married with children. I love you so much Bex Holden, so so much"

"And i love you Nate Bowers. More than I could ever explain. But one thing... when we do get married, I'm keeping my name, I'll be Bex Holden-Bowers ok?" She grabs my chin, smiles up at me and kisses my lips.

"I wouldn't expect anything else Bex Holden-Bowers"
