Just Good Friends?

Chapter 47 - Could there be trouble brewing?

Bex.

"See you later beautiful" Nate shouts as I walk away down the hall. I smile and head to my lecture. Nate hasn't changed a bit since we got together. He still has his laid back personality, but he seems much more content now. Still has that edge about him, but he's confident.

I see Lina up ahead and call to her. It turns out, we are in most of the same lectures as we both want to get in to the youth offenders field.

"Hey girl, Where's your bodyguards?" She laughs and links arms with me as we head in to the class.

"Don't you start" I groan

"Things good with Nate? I still can't believe you two haven't long been together. You just, you know, fit" she says. She was shocked when she found out we didn't get together till after we arrived here. She has only just been told about Mike too. I feel we are getting quite close, and felt that she was a true enough friend to open up to.

"Well we have known each other since we were 3, and we've been pretty good mates too, so we were already comfortable together" I get my books out and settle in for this 2 hour lecture.

"Yeah, and the fact he's been in love with you since you were 11!" She is obsessed with that part. "You're the envy of most females here. Your whole friendship group is to be fair, and now I'm a part of that too" she does a little dance in her seat and I laugh. I hope her and Harry sort it out properly, they are so suited to each other.

"That was intense! I'm starving! Let's go get food and find the others" we head down to the canteen and someone stops me by grabbing my arm as I'm about to walk through the door. I stop and look around. It's Zach. I look down at his hand on my arm, and look back at him with a firm look on my face

"Remove it" I say quietly but firmly.

"I don't think so pretty lady. What will you do, punch me in public?" He sneers in my ear.

"You have no idea what I'm capable of doing in public Zach. Now remove your hand off my arm" I look defiantly at him. He just leers at me and steps even closer so his body is almost touching me. Without hesitation, I bring my knee up and hit him square in the balls so hard he doubles over and let's go instantly. Nobody around even realise what's happened, it was so fast. They only see him drop to the floor holding himself. "Told you not to put your hands on me again, I won't stop at that next time" I turn and walk away towards the table that has become ours since the first day.

Nate.

I see Bex and Lina heading towards the canteen doors, and then Zach appear out of nowhere and grab hold of her. My face turns to stone, and I feel Joe and Harry get out of their seats. I put my hand on Joe's arm and he turns to me and I shake my head once, all the time, watching Zach and Bex. He grabs hold of Harry and pulls him back too. We sit and watch what happens. It's taking everything in me to hold back, to not fly over there and stomp on his head, but I know Bex would be pissed at that, so I wait and watch.

"Should we really wait and do nothing?" Harry is on the edge of his seat now, ready to pounce.

"Nate says we wait, we wait" Joe says.

It happens so quickly, but we see exactly what happened, and then Bex is walking towards us, eyes locked on mine, with that stunning sexy smile of hers. I don't move, just watch her walking to me and smile.

Joe.

"f**k man, Nate, you haven't lost that chilled exterior in the slightest have you dude. That was well played" I tap Nate on the shoulder and look at him. He's watching Bex walk towards us, his face soft again, smiling at her. He sees nobody else in this room apart from her, they could be totally alone as far as he's aware.

"You good sis?" I ask when Bex comes over and is about to sit down next to Nate. But before she has the chance, he pulls her on to his lap and kisses her and whispers in her ear.

"I'm good Joe, no need to worry about me, I can handle him" she says. Nate moves her back to the seat beside him and drapes his arm over her shoulder, then turns to Brad on the other side of him and starts chatting about the game coming up. Bex and Harry are chatting about surf, so I turn to Lina, who looks a little bewildered.

"You ok Lina?" I ask her. She comes across as a tough girl, but I think it's a front mostly.

"I'm OK Joe. But that was a bit scary, and tense, very tense! How did she keep so cool? And how didn't you all jump in, especially Nate, he just seemed so chill?"

"Thats Nate, never changes. But don't get on the wrong side of him. Zach is about to find out the hard way I fear. But me and my boys Harry and Cal, we'll be behind him to drag him back if needed. We'll watch out for him" and we will. Nothing is going to jeopardise Nates future, nothing.

Harry.

"So, we all good for the game tomorrow?" Joe asks Nate as we head out to the car.

"Yeah dude, we're ready" Simple Nate, hardly ever gets worked up, always the cool exterior. I honestly don't know how he's stayed so calm on the field with Zach. I would of lost it by now, but Nate just treats him exactly like the rest of us when he's out there.

"Bex is really looking forward to the party" I laugh sarcastically. They both laugh then too. It's common knowledge between us all, how much Bex hates the run up to a party. Hates all the fuss, so we try to make it as simple as possible now. And we've had plenty of practice at throwing these legendary parties.

"What's happening with you and Lina?" Joe nudges me then. I'm not sure what's going on with us if im being honest, but for the first time ever, I think I actually might really like a girl. Not like Nate and Bex, or Joe and Ems, those guys were forever, but I don't actually want to see anyone else, I'm happy in Linas company.

"Just seeing what happens dude. She's hot, and she's a good laugh, we'll see" I say, trying to play it cool.

"Dude, come on, you can't be like Nate, it's not in you to be so chill" Joe laughs.

"Alright!" I bounce, "She's so f*****g hot I keep imagining ripping her clothes off and f*****g her over a table. She gives me a f*****g hard on just by looking at me" the guys laugh.

"Thats more Harry. So why haven't you f****d her yet?" Joe opens the car and climbs in.

"Because... i dont know, i just feel she deserves more respect than that. She just deserves more, y'know?" I tell him as i jump in too. He looks over at me for a second, then shrugs. We don't wait for Bex, she has track, and has a comp coming up so is training with the team for a change. Her and Lina will follow later.

Bex.

The day of the game, and the college is wild.

"f**k sake, I hate this s**t" Nate pulls me in closer, as if trying to make a barrier between him and the crowds. I laugh and reach up to him, and pull his face towards me and kiss him deeply. He turns me around and pushes me up against the lockers and I can feel him getting hard.

"f**k Bex, look what you do to me" He breaths in to my ear. He does the same thing to me, I can feel the stirrings between my legs. I push him back gently before things get out of control. I can also feel eyes on us, and look around. Sure enough, people are staring. Nate scowls at them and they all turn away instantly and I laugh.

"Get used to it hot stuff, you're one of the main highlights of today. You, along with Harry Joe and Brad" I say as I pull him in for another kiss.

"That doesn't mean I have to like it" he grumbles.

......

Nate.

"Bex is meeting us there. She's waiting for Lina, and will meet Cal, Ems and Jess outside. They don't know where they're going. It will be strange having Cal in the stands not on the field with us" Joe says as we head to the locker room before the game.

......

When we come out of the tunnel, we look to the stands behind the benches. There is Bex, Cal, Ems, Jess and Lina. I walk over and jump up on to the side and reach over to Bex. I kiss her hard on the lips, tell her i love her, then jump back down and walk out on to the field. My first game as Captain, and I am so ready for it.

Bex.

"You two are too cute... well no, not cute, f*****g smoking! I get f*****g wet just looking at the two of you together" Lina says, and the others groan.

"Jesus Lina, you and Harry are so well suited. When are you two going to sort it out?" Jess laughs.

"When he stops being a p***y and f***s me" she says matter of factly.

"f*****g hell, a female Harry. I'm not sure I belong in this group" Cal jokes.

Joe.

The game is over and we smashed them. Nate is a f*****g s**t hot Captain, all the guys respect him, apart from Zach, but Nate doesn't let him bother him on the field. Nate drops his bag, jumps up the wall to Bex and picks her up to kiss her. I see Harry run straight past me, hurdle the railing, take the steps two at a time and stop infront of Lina. He doesn't hesitate, he just picks her up swings her around and kisses her full pelt of the lips. He whispers something in her ear, puts her down and jumps back down to our level. He looks at me and winks, turns around and starts walking away, flicks his finger up behind his head and shouts "Later fuckers". Harry is on top form, I laugh, shake my head and walk off to the changing room.
