Chapter 41 - Any regrets?

Bex.

We sit there for a while, talking and laughing about things. Its easy, comfortable, and feels so right. "Joe needs to know what happened. He knows us both so well, and he'll be gutted if we don't tell him. I promised I'd be straight with him about you, and I need to stick to that. You ok with that?" I ask her, idly stroking her arm.

"Yes, he needs to know" she smiles up at me. "You mind if I go for a run? I need to blast my head, straighten my thoughts from one big jumbled mess"

"Go. I know you need it, and i am not up to dealing with Bex on a mad one today" I wink at her. She sits up and punches my arm

"Oi! Im not that bad" she grins "ok, maybe I am. I'm going, see you in a bit" she climbs off my lap "no regrets Nate" she smiles, and she heads inside the house.

Joe.

"They ok?" Cal asks me, nodding towards Bex and Nate. They are sitting out on the patio, and Bex has just moved on to his lap. It's not unusual, we're all like that with Bex, but it feels like I'm missing something. They look comfortable, happy even.

"I think so. I just think there's something I don't know" I reply, watching them.

"Well they seem happy, but i know what you mean" Harry says, watching them too.

Bex has stood up now and heads inside.

"You 2 ok Bex?" I ask as she comes through the doors

"Yep, great. I'm going for a run" she heads upstairs, and 5 minutes later i hear her come downstairs, put her trainers on, and head out the front door.

"Right, come on. We're going to find out what's going on" i stand up grabbing my coffee.

"Don't you think you should go alone?" Cal says to me.

"Nope, we're all one big f****d up family, and we all find out together or not at all... unless Nate tells you to f**k off" I say determindely. The 3 of us head outside, and join Nate on the patio.

"Wondered how long it would take you 3 to come pestering" Nate smirks

"Come on dude, out with it. What the f**k is going on?" I ask straight out.

"Me and Bex slept together last night" he says, "and again this morning" looking directly at me. Well f**k me, I wasn't expecting that.

"Slept or s*x?" I know the answer, I'm just confirming.

"Both. But it was more than just s*x, it was... amazing, it was right" he says, a small smile playing on his lips.

"What about Bex? How is she feeling about this?" This is big.

"The same as me. She's gone for a run to straighten her head. It's a massive step Joe, we just needed some breathing space this morning, not because we regret it, but because we don't. So now we need to process it and work it out from here" he seems calm about it, and i know he's telling me the truth.

"How did it happen dude?" Harry asks

"To be honest, it just happened. She came in to my room when she heard me after the party finished, then it just escalated. We both wanted it, and i checked with her again that she definitely wanted to. There are no regrets today, we're both happy. We just need to work out what happens next" I trust Nate with my life, I'd never think he'd do something that Bex wasn't comfortable with, he didnt need to reasure me about that.

"Ok. Thanks for telling us dude. We'll leave you to chill for a bit" the 3 of us head back inside to give him some space.

"f**k. Is it weird that I was expecting it, but now it's happened, I don't feel like i was expecting it?" Harry says shocked.

"Nah, I know what you mean dude" Cal says quietly.

Bex arrives back 2 hours later, and Nate has joined us in the den.

"Bex! Let's have a little chat" I call out to her before she heads up for a shower. I head outside to the patio, and she follows me, lying down with her head on my lap.

"You good? Nate told us what happened" I ask her

"Yeah, I'm good. Did he tell you i initiated it?" She grins

"Kind of. Why? What did you do?" I frown

"Let's just say my little rabbit friend was the icebreaker" she laughs.

"f**k sake Bex" I groan. She sits up and looks at me.

"Ok, heart to heart over, I need a shower." She heads upstairs and I go in to start lunch.

When Bex comes back downstairs she looks refreshed, and somehow very sure of herself. The guys have joined me in the kitchen. Nate is on his phone, and Harry and Cal are sitting at the table looking at something on a laptop.

She comes over to me and gives me a hug.

"I love him Joe. I actually love him" I stare over at Nate as he's leaning back against the end of the breakfast bar, scrolling on his phone. Last night, and waking up with him this morning, doing it all again, was f*****g amazing, and I feel so relaxed and happy. Nate is just so laid back, and it adds to his mysterious personality. "It's not me you need to tell sis" and he nudges me. I take a deep breath and walk over to Nate, stand infront of him and put my arms around his waist. I reach up on tiptoes and whisper in his ear.

He places his phone down on the counter behind him, without breaking eye contact with me. The corner of his mouth curls up in a lopsided smile, and he scoops me up with my legs wrapped around him and kisses me long and softly. "I love you too Bex Holden, always have. I was just waiting for you" he kisses me again.

When he puts me down, we realise everything is silent. We look around, and Joe, Harry and Cal are staring at us with their mouths hanging open.

"f*****g perverts" Nate grumbles.

"f*****g awesome!" Harry shouts and bounces off Joe.

"For f**k sake Harry" Cal shakes his head but grins.
