Chapter 55 - Home visit

Nate.

"When can you get back with us Nate?" Coach asks when I go to his office Friday morning.

"Not sure yet coach, few weeks. Need to get the go ahead from doc first" He's disappointed, but understands.

"OK. Take care of yourself, and no overdoing it ok. And I mean nothing, no kind of exercise at all, understand?" I grin and he shakes his head "Get out of here Nate. Go find her" I'm dismissed.

Bex.

"Bex!" I'm walking towards the cafeteria with Lina, and hear Nate call me. I turn around, and see him jogging towards me. Heads are turning as he passes groups of girls, but he doesn't notice a thing. He only has eyes for me. He stops infront of me, picks me up and kisses me. He pulls away but doesn't put me down.

"Want to get out of here?" He smiles wickedly at me. It's the last day of college for a month, and I'm ready for a break if I'm honest. I have no more lectures, and only practice, but I don't need to go to that.

"I do, I definitely do" I lean down and kiss him again..

"Oh please, you two! We can't all have an f*****g awesome relationship like you, please, enough" but Lina is smiling. "Look at the scene around you guys, you're making everyone jealous!" I look around, and sure enough, everyone is staring longingly at us. We do make a pretty hot couple though!

Nate grumbles in pushes his head against my chest, then let's me back down to the ground.

"Let's go beautiful. I can't do this" He grabs my hand and starts pulling me away "Later Lina! Oh, Harry's looking for you!" He shouts back to Lina as we head off "Move" he snaps at some kids by the car. They jump and scatter away quickly. "Sorry!" He shouts after them, and I laugh.

"You just can't be the bad boy can you Nate?"

"Ah Bex, it just gets to me you know? All the f*****g attention, all the f*****g time! I honestly don't know how Harry and Joe lap it all up, uts f*****g exhausting. I feel like I'm in a f*****g zoo being constantly watched" he really xant cope with the popularity that comes along with being f*****g smoking hot and captain of the football team. It's just not in his nature, he likes to blend jn to the background.

"Deal with it hot stuff. You're f*****g sexy as f**k, with a hot girlfriend, you're going to be watched for the rest of your life" I joke. He grabs me and pulls me to hjm. His lips come down on mine hard and he moves my hand to his jeans.

"Feel that beautiful? That's because of you. Just thinking about you makes me f*****g hard. Let's go" he turns the key and we drive out of the carpark at speed. I noticed we'd made quite the little scene before we left, people near saw how he kissed me, and how fast we left.

Nate.

"Ready Bex!?" I need out of here. I'm taking Bex away for the weekend, and then we'll head back home to see our parents for a few days, and meet the others there, before spending the rest if the break at home. But right now, I need Bex, and Bex alone.

"Yep, let's go" she smiles, grabs her sunglasses and heads out infront of me.

"Have I ever mentioned that you've got a f*****g gorgeous ass?" I grab it and hive it a squeeze as we slam the front door behind us and jump in the car.

"Once or twice hot stuff. I love you" she grins at me.

"And i love you Bex" i kiss her forehead and we leave.

......

We have an amazing weekend in a little hotel by the sea. We wander around the town, eat loads of food, and spend a lot of time in bed.

"I'm so ready to go back home Nate, proper home. Can't wait to see my Dad too!" Bex looks so relaxed, it's great to see. This is the exact thing I was hoping would happen.

"Bex, I'd like to go and see Anna and the baby when we are home. But I won't if you don't want me to?" I say. I know Bex won't mind at all, but I still like to check with her.

"Of course I don't mind Nate, I think it's a great idea. I'd like to see her too, but I'll wait till you've been" she holds my hand and smiles.

"I think we go together Bex" I kiss her hand, and drive home.

Bex.

"Bex! Nate! Oh my god, i never thought I'd see you guys ever again!" Anna pulls the door open and dives on us practically as soon as she realises it's us. She looks really well, happy even.

"Hey Anna, hope you don't mind us just turning up?" Nate speaks for us both.

"God, of course not. Come in!" She drags us both inside.

"Penny is here, would you like to meet her?" She hesitates, but we both smile.

"I can't wait to have a cuddle Anna, go get her" and I truly am excited to meet her baby girl.

She comes back a few minutes later, with this beautiful little girl, with gorgeous little blonde curls, and a smile to die for. She holds her podgy little arms out to me, and I look at Anna.

"Well you heard her, pass her over" I say with a smile. "Hello darling, aren't you a pretty little munchkin then! Oh Anna, she's gorgeous!" I tell her. And she is. I play with her for the next 15 minutes, before Nate nudges me.

"OK, enough. Hand her over and stop hogging her" he holds his hands out to take her from me, and she willingly goes to him, giggling as he bounces her up and down. I'm actually shocked at how natural he is at this. There's no awkwardness at all, this guy, my guy, is meant to be a Dad.

Half hour later we say our goodbyes, and leave Anna, saying we will see her again as soon as we can, but we'll stay in touch.

Nate.

"You're a natural Nate" Bex says with a smile when we get to her and Joe's family home. It's so good to be back here.

"So are you Bex. It was really nice to see to be honest. I saw you differently, maternaly. She was very cute though wasn't she... definitely not mine" i say with a laugh and wink at her.

She laughs "oh Nate, our children will be gorgeous!" I like hearing that, our children.

Bex.

"Where have you 2 been? Don't tell me you stopped off for a quick one?! You couldn't just wait?!?" Joe bounces out when he sees us pull in to the driveway.

"f**k off Joe! We've just f*****g got here and you're giving us s**t already dude!" Nate huffs, and turns the ignition off and steps out of the car.."Actually, we've been to see Anna and penny" he walks around to the boot and gets our bags out. Joe stops in his tracks and looks at hjm.

"You whatt?!? After what she did to you?" He's shocked, and i can't blame him.

"Yes dude, I told you, I don't hold any grudges. Baby's very cute you should go and see her" he slams the boot. "Come on Bex, go check when your Dad gets back, then let's get down the f*****g beach"

Joe just slumps against the car and stares after Nate

I shrug my shoulders at him, and say "he's right Joe, go see her" and I leave him there and head inside.

Joe.

"So are you going to go?" Cal asks whilst I get towels out for us. "I think I will. As Nate said, she made a mistake, who are we to f*****g judge?"

"Hmmm, yeah, I think I probably will. I'll go for a surf now, then I'll head over there after that. If she has a baby sitter, maybe she will want to come to the party later... but I don't know how these new young mums do things like partying" I make a mental note to ask her anyway. As everyone has said, she made a mistake, but she was our friend.
