Lux Bonteri
I'm supposed to be a leader and senator for my homeworld. Like my mother and father, but I'm not. At least I don't think I am. I've always been a rebel, even when I was in the Confederacy of independent systems. And now in the rebellion. I think that's why Senator Organa gave me this assignment.
"Are you ready Senator Bonteri," My best friend asks in his posh senator tone?
"I think so, Senator Organa," I say mimicking his accent with a smile.
My mission is to go to the planet Zygerria, home of Zygerrian slavers, And buy as many slaves as possible, in disguise. Once I have bought them I will take them back to their homes and set them free.
"Remember, you're known as the Crime lord Kayan Star, "Bail says reminding me of the horrid costume I have to wear
I cringe, "Got it."
I stare out into the hyperspace tunnel out the front windows of my ship. Hyperspace tunnels are so pretty, they're like blue marble. They remind me of... No. I need to forget about her. She's gone, dead with the rest of the Jedi. The alarm goes off, knocking me out of my trance and indicating that we are dropping out of lightspeed. The planet is pretty much an ugly trophy brown with little dark patches. The dark patches are probably storms or cities. My copilot and I speed up toward the planet. We need to get there before an auction. We're finally close enough that I can see the buildings of the capital city.
I quickly put on my helmet and voice modulator. The ship is about to land, so I quickly walk over to the door. I need to save as many people as possible and get the hell out of there. The ship rattles a little indicating that we've landed. The door slowly starts to open.
"Hello, Kayan Star. I assume," A older, less inimidating zgerrian wolfman
"You assume correctly,"I say as intimidating as I can, at least I think i sound intimidating.
" I believe you are here for some workers," The Zygerrian matter of factly.
I look at the Zygerrian up and down. The wolfman talking to me is small, probably an inch shorter than me without the helmet. He's escorted by two large guards with stun sticks and zygerrian armor. Great, they're going to be hard to overpower if I'm recognized and have to escape. Zygerrians are wolf-men with big ears and fangs. They're normally super strong and very intimidating, but I travel all the time, I'm used to other species. Back to the conversation.
"Workers, servants, slaves. Call them what you want, but I need people,"I says gettingupin the dog's face.
"Ah, then you are in the right place, my friend. Come. If we move quickly you can make it to the next auction," he backs off and turns around.
"I will attend the auction, but after that, I intend to choose my workers personally,"I growl before I can stop myself. This... What these people are doing... What has happened to our society?
"As you wish Mr. Star," He says after turning and looking me in the eyes
"Off we go, I intend to get to the auction on time, I say and at that we walk off.
We walked For the next fifteen minutes through the winding streets of the city. Passing vendors and their customers along with shops and housing. We pass down linesof people in chains. Itreminds me of some sicktwisted version of the lines weused towalkdown in school. Igrit my teeth holding in a growl as we pass they Zygerrian leading them. We finally walk onto the main street that leads to some kind of stadium.
The stadium rises maybe four stories and is a coffee color. I'm sure it can hold hundreds of buyers. There are lifts every fifty feet and small access doors on the ground level. I'm sure the slaves are being held underground in cages. Poor people. They're being treated like livestock, instead of living beings. I will be saving as much as I can, but especially the elderly, women, and children. Men might have a chance here to survive, but the others won't.
"I assume that the auction is being held there," I say in a dissinterested tone. If it were up to me I would burn this place to the ground.
"Yes sir, that's the auction arena," He answers moving on.
"I assume that I will have a good seat, considering I will be buying a large portion of the slaves," I say in a more demanding than suggestive tone.
"Of course sir."
We walked into the arena and onto a lift. We were Immediately lifted to the top levels of the arena. We moved up to some of the top levels before the door opened. We walked down a long hall to a box. The box was lavishly furnished in the back with thrown-like seats toward the front opening. I moved over and sat down in the middle chair so I could have the best view. The stadium was filled with buyers and on the top level was a huge balcony with a very lavish lounge chair. A beautiful Nigerian female lounged on it, the queen I presumed. I turned to my attendant.
"When will the auction start," I ask without looking back see if he's there. I already know he's there. How? I just do.
"Any minute now," the weaker zygerrian answers.
"Thank you for your service. Now leave me," I say in a demanding tone.
"As you wish sir," he answers before he walks away.
I hear as his footsteps fade away. An announcer had begun speaking, giving the formal introductions. He was a zygerrian, but very old and thin, he'd be doing this for a while. I wasn't really paying attention until I heard the yelling. The voice sounded like someone I'd heard before. It sounded like...
"Let go of me, you filthy slave. I want nothing to do with this. I am not yours to sell. Don't touch me. I have powerful friends, they'll come for me you'll see. Then you'll be the one dragged into an arena like this. And it won't be an auction, but an execution." It sounds like her. But it can't be, She is gone.
"We'll see, Togruta Trash,"A gruff voice answers
"No, Don't Touch me! Don't... Stop..."
A door opened below my balcony. And a togrunta with orange skin and blue and white striped montrals and lekku was shoved out of the doorway. Only then to be pulled out by long rope leashes. Four zygerrians held her leashes, she had to be very strong. She looked so familiar, like the togruta Jedi, Ahsoka Tano.
Like Her.
"I will not stand by and be sold like livestock. I am a living being. You can't do this. I won't allow you to do this," She snarles. I cansee her sharp canians.
"Really and who's going to stop me," A zygerrian says pulling on the women's leash.
She grunted and closed her eyes gently, almost unnoticed, reaching out her hand. Rocks rolled across the arena. No one would have noticed unless they were truly watching. The zygerrians started tripping and falling. The togrunta smiled and ran at the zygerrian that had been yelling at her. She got a few strikes in before the zygerrian realized what was happening. The wolfman grabbed her neck one time and stood up, before throwing her down.
"Filthy piece of Bantha poodoo. You'll wish you were born a protocol droid, sleemo," The togrunta swears.
I only knew one togrunta that would use that kind of slang. Ahsoka. She's alive.
"I'll take her," I yell raising myhand and pressing a button on the concel next to me.
The attendant that was supposed to leave suddenly came up.
"Sir, are you sure this is a good pick. She's ill-tempered and well rebellious,"The attendent is trying to talk me out of it. I schole.
"I know. She is strong and tough. She will make a great servant to me. Look at her, her body and beauty. She just needs to be broken that's all," I convince him bringing through my senetorial voice.
"I see,"he says backing away.
The togrunta was staring at me now calculating.
"You. You won't own me. I refuse to serve you, you criminal. You Scoundrel," she growls.
The speaker started speaking again as The togrunta was dragged away again. She stared daggers at me and flips me off as she's dragged through the exit. Apparently, she wasn't too happy about being sold like an animal, but Ican'tget over it. I am going to see her again, I'm going to finally see Ahsoka Tano again.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
I walked down the rows of cages looking for the weakest and youngest slaves. I was going to save the children first. I didn't want any of them to be hurt or killed by these filthy zygerrians, so I bought them first. Then I found some weaker adults or groups of families. I was able to get them cheaper than expected.
I bought a lot of Twi'lek and panatorians along with many humans and togruta. Now I was walking back to my ship where my crew and many zygerrian servants and guards were moving the slaves to. My ship had a large hold with cells, but it was all for show. As soon as we were in hyperspace and away from this horrible system they'd be set free and be able to walk around the ship.
I have now reached the ship where the rest of the slaves were being loaded up. I walked in and moved toward the cockpit. The pilots were getting ready to take off. I assumed Ashoka would have escaped already, but maybe she is trying to hide her abilities from the crew still putting the slaves away.
The ship rumbles taking off. We start to fly away, that's when I hear it. The doors opening and the light footsteps along with the thumps of guards hitting the floor. I told the piolets to prepare.
"For what sir," the pilot says turning tome.
"Just wait," I says as i slip on my helmet.
I guess Ahsoka did try to escape after all. Boy, she is going to be pissed, when I tell her it's me.
