Mason's POV The days following my conversation with Lucas were a blur of paranoia and suspicion. Every interaction, every glance, every whispered conversation seemed loaded with hidden meaning. But nothing set my nerves on edge quite like Margot's increasingly odd behavior. I tried to ignore it at first, to chalk it up to the stress of recent events. But as the days wore on, it became impossible to overlook. Margot was constantly on her phone, guarding it fiercely. She'd leave rooms to take calls, her voice low and urgent. More than once, I caught her hurriedly closing out of text conversations when I entered a room. The rational part of my brain tried to come up with innocent explanations.
