Lia came to Edward's office and heard a woman's furious voice.
"I didn't..."
Charlotte replied, crying.
Then came the sound of a slap.
Charlotte was slapped.
"Mrs. Shayna, it's not good to hit people!" This was Edward's voice.
Lia knocked on the office door.
The people in the office all looked at Lia.
Although Edward, Edward Packer, was advising Evelyn not to hit people, he did not stop her at all. Instead, Edward was somewhat wary of Molly and Charlotte fighting back, who were opposite him.
Molly, Charlotte's grandmother, was very short. She was holding Charlotte to protect her and crying heartbreakingly.
"Lia, why are you here?" Edward's expression eased slightly.
Lia said, "I'm here to give Charlotte the notebook." Lia walked straight to Charlotte and handed her the notebook.
