Chapter 5 Delilah pressed her hand to her mouth and fought back the tears. She sagged against the wall, letting her grief chew at her and wrap her in its misery. The pain was a living, breathing dragon swallowing her body in its breadth and depth and burning her soul. Or what was left of it. She wasn't sure which was worse, the latest news or her whole life. It all came crashing down on her in an instant. She'd kept so much from Andi. Stuff she wasn't sure her daughter could ever forgive her for. Bowing her head, she knew she should ask for forgiveness, but she didn't have the strength nor did she feel she had the right. Taking a deep breath, she did what she'd been doing since she'd been a young girl in a trashy trailer park having to look after herself and keep the predators at bay. S
