“What!! Why all of a sudden?” she asked surprisingly.

“Paddle your own canoe and, besides, we are not that close,” I replied.

“Okay, suit yourself.” she said and walked away.

The next day

I woke up in the morning, took my bath and wore a white dress and packed my hair like a ponytail. I did some light makeup and put on my heels.

I walked down the stairs as I was about to open the door. Annie stopped me.

“Ain't we gonna eat this morning?” she asks rudely.

“I hadn’t been paid before I quit my old jobs, remember and I am starting a new job today. I hope you understand”, I replied.

“Understand what huh? The worm in my stomach is literally killing me right now and you are telling me stories,”she snapped.

“I don’t have any cash to spear don’t you have a boyfriend or should I say, boyfriends.”

“Does that mean I will bother them about every little thing?"

“It's not a little thing, it's about you being alive, you want to be independent, then get a job!.” I walked out on her.

"Wow, Red is playing with me, starving me and making excuses, let me go and see troy…." I heard Annie talking to herself before walking out of the house.

I got off of the taxi and entered the mansion with all the guys staring at me. Am I the only girl here?

“Walk fast. We are damn hungry!” Steve half yelled.

“Where is the kitchen?” I asked.

“It’s on the second floor downstairs, the second room on your left.” he navigated.

“Thank you."

“Stop thanking me and get to work, luckily, because our boss is still sleeping,” he stated.

Hearing that, I hurried to the kitchen.

“Cooking for a lot of people is f*****g hard.” i said using the spoon to itch my back with my sweat all over the apron I was wearing. I finished cooking and served the food on the dining table while I ate mine in the kitchen.

Steve and the other guys sit at the table staring at the food. I finished eating and walk to the dining table.

“Why ain’t you guys eating?” I asked.

“The boss is not yet awake, we can’t eat without him, he will be the first to taste your cooking.” Steve said.

“Why don’t you guys just go wake him up,” I replied.

“No one can, I repeat, no one can wake the boss.” another gang member replied.

“Let me see about that.” i said rolling my eyes.

I walked into his room, he was lying on the bed half naked.

I leaned forward and put a feather in his ear.

“Stop it mum.” he grinned.

“What!! Am I your mum, so this demon has a mum? How dare you call me your mum wake up!" I yelled, hitting him profusely.

He opens his eyes

“How dare you enter my room,” he stated authoritatively.

“ I'm sorry sir.” I replied.

“What are you still doing here? Get out!!"

I walked into the living room and all the gang gazed at me.

“Did he scold you?" Steve asked and I nodded. All the gang started laughing

I just walked upstairs to the room I was given, I lay on the comfy bed.

I jumped out of bed as Steve pat me

“The boss is calling everyone,” he stated.

What does he want now, I muttered to myself

I followed Steve to a big and beautiful room which had luxurious big chairs in it. All the gang sat on different chairs, we all sat and Lion sat on the major chair facing everyone.

“I know the newcomer here will be wondering why I called this meeting,” he said, staring at me. I put my head down.

“ Well, get used to it. We have a meeting like this every day, no one is allowed to speak more or less. I ask them to, this is a list of jobs we have to carry out before today ends.” he put a paper forward.

“Steve, you and Red the newcomer will carry out the most important job of all, while Lucky and Mace will kill the senator's daughter, and Marvis and Victor will go and pick up the drugs from the airport,” he stated.

“Sir, but I am new here, I don’t have skills or know how to fight or capture someone.” I protested.

“That’s why you are going with Steve. He is strong, he will protect you. I will start training you from tomorrow. I must say, you are a good cook.” He complimented me.

“Thank you sir, but I am scared. What if I die?"

“Stop being a baby and grow up, because you will be with us for like ever.” he stated

“Won’t I have the privilege to marry one day?" i asked.

“You can. That depends on if you have finished paying me my money.” he raised his eyebrows.

“Okay sir, I muttered.

“You guys can go now. Oh I forgot Red, you don’t need to go home anymore from today, you will be living here.” he stated

“I can’t do that if who will feed my sister, and I am not comfortable being the only girl here except the maids that clean the house,” I replied.

“I make the decisions here. How old is your sister? he asked out of the blue.

“Huh, she is 19 years old. She just finished university a year ago.”

“That’s good she can cater for herself,” he replied.

“She doesn’t have a job", I added.

“Then she can look for one,” he stated,

“She has tried, but it's no use.”

“Let me see, you. You could send her money every month. That would be a great solution,” he said.

“But I don’t have money.” I replied, rolling my eyes.

“Did I say I won’t be paying you for living here, I will be paying you 1.5 million dollars each month, but I have removed an interest of 500 dollars, for the money you are owing me,” he stated.
