It was true that very few people ever surprised Emmett, but he had to say that Scarlett Parker was the first person who’d thrown him. She’d handled every call that had come in, tidied the mess at the front, and made order of the pile of papers he’d taken out to her, and that was after he’d called the temp agency and cancelled the temp who was already on her way over. Scarlett so far had kept some order to the front and the office, considering she’d stepped in and didn’t have a clue where anything was or what needed to be done. She so far had freed up everything administratively, blocking everyone from accessing him from the front so he could concentrate on fixing everything about this driving school.
