Today had been perfect. Looking back on that moment, which had terrified her like never before, she was stunned that Emmett had somehow gotten her to edge around the semi, see the road was clear, swerve out, and floor it, passing on the wrong side of the road and making her feel like a badass. She’d actually squealed in excitement as she pushed the pedal down. Emmett had reached over to grab the wheel when she got a little too excited and almost swerved from how fast she was going.
