Chapter thirty-two

PETER’S POINT OF VIEW So, after hearing what Elder Ramus said about Jess I was more than willing to move to this pack to look after her. Me and Layla spent another hour talking about it, as traditionally the female would move in with the male. I was more worried about how Andrew and the guys would take it than how Lewis would feel but I decided I would talk to Lewis during training or after. After me and Layla talked, we just simply fell asleep cuddling. It felt like we fitted perfectly with each other. How I managed to sleep without her before, Goddess only knows. In the morning before the sun was even up, I was all ready for the training and for talking to Lewis. When I reached the kitchen, most people were there already or outside in the garden waiting for Lewis. I saw Andrew talking with Henry to Rowan who I noticed had to brand new puncture marks on his neck. “Looks like someone got lucky last night,” I said pointing to his neck. “Yeah. Um...” Rowan said rubbing the back of his neck. “While you guys were running, I bumped into my mate. Literally actually. We danced around each other flying along with the run and then, well, went to the guest room I was staying in.” “You didn’t waste any time, did you?” Andrew said, smirking at me, knowing I was going to make marking Layla special. Rowan nodded at his remark. I thumped him on his shoulder. Henry patted his back. Andrew just put him in a headlock and ruffled his hair with his knuckles. Andrew has always been everyone's big brother even if Rowan is several years older than him. “Hey, speaking of disappearing. Where did you guys go after the run? You were gone for like half an hour.” Henry turned to me. “Yeah, Henry has a point. You guys wondered off. Along with Jess and Lewis.” Andrew remarked as he let go of Rowan, who was distinctly ruffled. I sighed, knowing that Andrew would know in a heartbeat if I was lying. Rowan can detect fluctuations in people’s heartbeats. So, it was completely useless in lying and even if I told them I couldn’t tell them Andrew would worry and be overprotective. I knew they wouldn’t tell anyone and would probably help as well. I took a deep breath to steady myself before I began. Making sure no one else can hear. Once I had finished explaining and also told them that I planned to move here, they looked at me like they were worried for my sanity. Andrew was about to open his mouth to say something. “Alright, everyone. Time for the run.” Came Lewis's voice. When he turned to see me talking to the guys, he gave me a quizzical look. As though he knew what we were talking about. He walked over to us and pulled me away from them. “You better not have told them.” Every word was almost highlighted with anger. I didn’t know what to say as there was no way for me to lie and get away with it. “Alpha. Don’t blame Peter, we made him tell us and if this is true, we all would like to offer our services to you and your Luna to help keep her safe.” Andrew said evidently still being a big brother and not wanting me to be any trouble. “And what are you lot going to be able to do when you guys go back today?” Lewis asked in general curiosity. “Well, as me and peter have found our mates here, we thought we would, with your permission, of course, move here, and therefore you would have two more warriors. Plus, I’m sure you’re already aware that we are all very skilled in combat, plus I have powers as a vampire that allows me to know when a person is lying plus I have connections across the country as a P.I. that I can use to find more information if needed.” Rowan said. “Me and Henry can stay at our pack trying to find more information out about this whole thing and find possible allies if a war was to break out,” Andrew added. We waited silently while Lewis considered it all. Finally, after a few minutes, he nodded. “No one can know. If one of you has told anyone I will kill you myself, understood?” We all nodded. “Alright, Peter, Rowan you two can move to this pack, we will iron out the details later. Time for training.” He walked out and shifted. We followed suit and started the run knowing that from now on he would all be pushing us to our limits now that there was a possible new threat to his mate. Me and August were so excited that we would be here with our mate and our best friend although bummed that I had to leave my brother and father behind.
