Chapter thirty-nine

JESS’S POINT OF VIEW

I stirred in my sleep feeling a weight across my waist, I opened my eyes and saw that it was still dark outside, and I saw the weight was Lewis’s arm. I rolled over feeling my body ache a little and remembered what happened. I smiled at myself and felt at my neck. Sure enough, there was my mate's mark; I could not wait to finish the mating process.

I got up slowly as to not wake Lewis and I ran to the bathroom feeling as though I will wet myself if I didn’t go soon. As I flushed the toilet and I put on my bathrobe. When I got back into the bedroom, I saw Lewis was sitting up.

“Hey, you, okay?” I ask him as to walk over to him.

“I’ll be better when I’m holding you again.” He said pulling me to sit on his lap once I was in reach.

We nuzzled each other for a minute. He moved my hair aside so he could see his mark and he had the biggest smile on his face. I smiled when I saw my mark too. We were very nearly fully each other’s. That’s when I remembered that we weren’t done yet and I had an idea as to how to make this next bit a bit more fun.

I stood up and stretched a bit knowing I’m going to need to be ready for this next bit. He was staring at me surprised at my sudden movement. I walked over to the door of the bedroom and put my hand on the doorknob and looked over at him. He was looking more confused. I opened the door and smiled over at him.

“Chase me.”

That was all I said to him before I sprinted as fast as I could down the stairs all the while still in my bathrobe. All I heard was him growling, I was running flat out. I wasn’t nearly as fast in my human form I was much better in my wolf form. When I reached the kitchen, I heard him reach the bottom of the stairs.

I let Clara take over when we got out of the doors. I made the night guards jump but they didn’t do anything knowing it was me. Feeling the thudding of her four paws as she ran. Turning round to look where Lewis or Leo was, we saw that he had only just got out from the kitchen. I knew if he wanted, he could catch me in a matter of seconds, but he was enjoying the chase. We saw him shift into Leo and begin to run faster.

Clara has been running in the woods for a few minutes when we heard Leo howl. She found a bit of mud and rolled about in it to cover our scent we both wanted to give a good test to see if he could find us. Once we were more or less covered than we ran for a bit more. She slowed her pace a bit and looked up to see the full moon shining down at me. From the position of it, I would guess it was nearly 3-4 in the morning. We realized it was quiet even for it being the middle of the night. Suddenly I felt something tackle us from the right side.

Rolling about for nearly a minute we splashed into the little pond that was near, it wasn’t deep just enough to clean the mud off me. I almost went to attack until I realized it was Leo. He was standing on all fours above me, he was growling, and then he licked my cheek and gave me a grin, if wolves could grin that is.

He let us get out of the water and we shook ourselves dry. He didn’t waste any time before he tackled us again, but not enough to send me rolling. I guess he was tired of playing around now and wanted what belonged to him; she would gladly give it to him. Clara turned round to face him and walked to him; Clara licked his face and walked to his side letting her tail flick him on his snout. Leo growled and suddenly moved his body so that he was mounting her. I decided I would give them their time together and let them be alone for a bit. So, I blocked the link so I wouldn't see or hear or feel it.
