JESS’S POINT OF VIEW
Now that I was officially marked and mated with it now meant me and Lewis had to do the Mating ceremony. I was excited but still nervous. I mean Lewis or rather Leo was meant to mount Clara in front of the whole pack.
The stage that the Luna ceremony was on had been put back up for the mating ceremony. I was just going through all the nitty-gritty and embarrassing details of it with Rhianna, seeing how she has done this before.
“Now I know that being naked in front of a massive crowd is not an ideal situation but understand that it is only for a few seconds while you shift. I will be there with your robe waiting to put it back on you as soon as you are done.” She said reassuringly.
I looked down at my cup of tea. Not sure how to feel. I mean I didn’t mind showing my body off to a select few people with who I am close with. I wouldn’t even mind having orgies with some close friends, but this was just being naked in front of the whole pack with all eyes on me.
“What was your mating ceremony like?” I asked her.
“Well, I was just as scared as you are. But I think the only way I was able to do it was to keep my eyes closed while I was in my human form. You must remember that when Lewis’s wolf mounts yours, he won’t actually enter you just be on top.” She said in a slightly awkward way, but still reassuring.
I looked over at my robe that I will have to put on very soon. I decided then that I will do it no matter what. I will do it for me, for Lewis, and for the pack. After all, I am the Luna now, so I have to show the pack that I will respect all traditions, even if I was uncomfortable with it.
“You ready Kitten?” Lewis asked looking down at me before we walked out into the garden, where everyone was waiting.
I just looked up at him and nodded. I was in my robe with nothing on underneath and Lewis was just in a pair of shorts. He kissed me softly and then he held my hand as the doors opened for us to walk out. The sun has set completely now, Lewis thought it would be a good idea to have it on New Year’s Eve. As if to say New Year new start. I took a deep breath and walked forward toward the stage ahead of us, which had spotlights on it to illuminate us when we shift.
We got to the stage and stood facing the pack. Lewis’s mother and father were on the stage waiting for us. His father was by the microphone and his mother was to the right of the stage and she gave me an encouraging smile and a little nod.
“Golden moon pack, tonight we celebrate the mate bond of Lewis Johnson and Jessica Livit.” He said this as though introducing us. He turned to the side and flung his right arm out toward us to let us know that it was time.
It was time, Lewis let go of my hand and took his shorts off handing them to his father and shifted into Leo. When he was done Leo was looking up at me with big puppy dog eyes, waiting for me. The crowd was starting to whisper; I was probably taking too long. I looked over to Fred and he just gave me an awkward smile, I looked to Rhianna who gave me a kind smile and another encouraging nod, and then I looked back down to Leo who was starting to whimper slightly. I took a deep breath and undid the knot in my robe, closing my eyes I slide it off and handed it quickly to Rhianna. As soon as she had hold of the robe, I let Clara take over.
The next second I was looking out at the crowd through her eyes. Everything was much sharper and clearer. I felt Leo rub against our head affectionately then he walked behind us and hopped on top of us, and he let out one long howl, Clara joined in tilting our head up to the night sky. When we looked back down, we saw that everyone else was in their other form and they too let out their own howls for us. How I did not notice that everyone else in the crowd was in shorts or their own robes I don’t know, I am however going to blame it on the spotlights.
Leo got off us and shifted back and I followed his lead at once turning back to Rhianna for my robe. I put it on and turned to Lewis who was just straitening up putting his shorts on. He comes up to me and holds me tight, kissing the top of my head.
“You did really good, Kitten.” He whispered in my ear. “Now how about we go get dressed and enjoy the countdown?”
I nodded and we walked back to the packhouse as everyone was just putting their robes and shorts on. I felt like a massive weight was lifted off my chest. I have so far done everything that was expected of me as a Luna and for that, I was proud of myself.
It’s mid-January now and Lewis was desperate for us to get married. Where I wanted to wait a bit and plan all the details about the wedding myself, Lewis on the other hand did not want that at all. He wanted to be married to me as soon as possible. Even with the maybe thought of an impending fight with a warlock nothing much seems to have happened, I mean there have been a couple more rouges who have tried to get into the territory. But because of the last time I was alone, Lewis had made sure that I am never alone again. My only moments of peace were ones actually in the packhouse where there was always someone nearby.
Lewis wanted it all to happen quickly so that he could whisk me away and be alone with me and start making pups. I wasn’t against the idea, but I was apprehensive about being a mother because of my past.
Today was the day of my wedding dress fitting. I had taken Leah, Lily, Layla, Cassandra, and Rhianna alone with Luca and Chris. I was trying on the dozen wedding dress, none of them seemed to be right. I didn’t want to be a bridezilla or anything, but I felt that that’s what I was turning into because I could not find the right one. I didn’t know what one I was looking for I just knew the ones that weren’t right for me.
“Ahhh! Why is wedding dress shopping so hard?!” I exclaim, slumping down on the couch, in this bloody poufy princess thing that Rhianna picked out for me.
“Because you want it to be perfect for you and Lewis. I know the feeling dear; I was the same when I was marrying Fred.” Rhianna said handing my glass of champagne.
I cringed drinking it. How anyone could drink this is beyond me, it’s so bitter! I wondered if there were other champagnes out there that were sweeter. I imagined there must have been, I’ll make a note to find them myself instead of leaving that up to someone else, I will not have bitter champagne at my wedding.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find you your perfect dress,” Leah said.
“Do you have any idea what your dream wedding dress would look like?” Lily asks me.
“Um. not really. I just know what I like and don’t like.” I say thinking for a moment. “I really loved my Luna dress, I wish there was something like that, but in white or something.”
“I know where we need to go now,” Layla says standing up.
“Where?” I ask confused.
“To the martial shop. I am going to make your dress!” Layla says cheerfully.
The other women gasp and cheer. I all but cried at the idea.
“But won’t that take a while?” I ask considering Lewis wants to get married as quickly as possible.
“I made your Luna dress in two weeks. I can make a similar replica even quicker now that I know what you like and your size.” She speaks.
With that I get changed from the dress I was wearing, and we head to the marital shop.
When we got to the packhouse Layla went straight for her sewing room to get started. Where everyone else went to get something to eat, I thought I would inform Lewis as to what was going on with my wedding dress.
I went up to your bedroom and saw he wasn’t in there, but I really needed the toilet, so I went to do my business and wash my hands. When I was coming out of the bathroom, I heard a knock on the door and Lewis came in with his hand over his eyes. I couldn’t help but double up with laughter, I felt my eyes breaming with tears at how ridiculous he looked.
“Kitten? Are you in your wedding dress?” he asked.
“No. You can open your eyes,” I say calming my laughter.
He was so superstitious, it was unreal. I thought I was the one that was meant to be the magical one. He moved his hand so he could see where he was going.
“Kitten!” he scooped me up and spun me around. “Did you pick one?”
“Not really,” I say, he looks crestfallen. “But Layla offered to make me one.”
He looks surprised, and then happy, and then worried.
“Will she be able to make it by the 28th?” he asks.
“Why the 28th?” I ask, lifting my eyebrows.
“Because I just booked everything for that date.” He says matter of factly.
“What?!” I almost scream at him. “How are we going to get everything done by then?” I ask feeling a little panicked now.
“Calm down, Kitten.” He says chuckling a little at how panicky I was getting, he holds me to him. “Everything is nearly done as it is.”
I nod feeling better as a relax in his embrace, letting his scent calm me down. We decided to head downstairs and get something to eat. When we reach the kitchen, everyone was there.
When we told them when our wedding is, it was fairly comical. The girls were all shocked that there was so much to do, the guys just didn’t seem to realize what went into a wedding and didn’t see why the girls were all in shock about it all.
