My prophecy Luna

Chapter twenty-one

PETER’S POINT OF VIEW

I thought the Alpha was going to rip me to pieces but instead, we shook hands, and then that was it.

We were all in the kitchen after washing and getting dressed. Waiting for Jess and Lewis, when we heard laughing coming from the hallway, the next second Jess came sprinting in.

“Safe! You can’t touch me now” she said while laughing. She was playing tag with the Alpha like we did when we were kids. I didn’t think the Alpha, or any other ranked member would approve of this childish behaviour put to my surprise they looked happy that their Alpha was happy. Even if he pretended to be hurt a moment ago.

His father Fred cleared his throat to let the love birds know they weren’t alone. Me and the guys could not help but nearly double up with laughter at the look of horror on Jess’s face.

After a few moments, we all managed to sit down for breakfast. Jess sat on Lewis's lap, and I smiled for her, she generally seemed so happy. I was lost in thought for a second as the next thing I know Rhianna, Lily, and Leah were all hosted on to their mate's laps as well, even if the girls protested. I chuckled at how embarrassed they were, I personally couldn’t wait for that moment with me and my mate. We waited for Jess to have the first bite but instead, Lewis feed her a strawberry. That apparently was the cue to start eating as well.

Turns out they grow as much as possible in the allotments, all sorts of fruits and vegetables even wheat and sugar cane. They even had their own rice field and farm where they rear all sorts of farm animals, they don’t slaughter them, and they let them grow old till they die naturally or need to be put down. They also let the calves stay with their mothers instead of taking them away and milking them on their own accord. They even have solar panels on every single rooftop. Plus a few wind turbines.

I honestly wanted to move here because of how nature-friendly they are. I loved it. And I loved that watermelon smell. Where was it coming from, it seemed to be getting stronger August was running in circles in my mind, howling.

Then the most beautiful creature I had ever laid eyes on came into the room. I was so taken aback by how she looked; I didn’t hear what she said. To me, she was the only person in this room.

“MATE!”

August was itching to get in control, I really tried not to let him as we were here for Jess, and I really didn’t want to disrespect Lewis considering we were on good terms. But next thing I know is I’ve grabbed this girl and held her against the wall, I was screaming at August to give me back control as I knew we would be in trouble. Her legs were wrapped around my waist, and I had my hands on her waist. She didn’t seem scared, instead, she seemed aroused. God, she smelt amazing!

“Mine,” I growled lowly at her.

She smiled and said “Yours.” I growled lowly hearing her sweet voice.

I was about to kiss her when I was yanked away so viciously I almost yelped.

The next thing I know is I’m on my back on the floor with the Table broken beneath me. August had given me back control at last; I quickly got up to my feet, looking at everything around me. The ranked females were standing checking on my mate, the males were standing next to Lewis; Jess was trying to get everyone to calm down. My brother and friends were standing just off to the sides of me just in case they needed to intervene.

“Alright! Everyone calms the f**k down!” Shouted Jess her tone sounded different, this I knew was her Luna voice. Within moments everyone had calmed down, no one can defy the Luna, not even the Alpha.

“I’m sorry. August took control and I had no idea what was happening.” I was practically pleading with Lewis. He was still seething with anger at me I thought his reaction was a bit overkill, for me acting like that toward a random girl.

He looked at me and I swear he would have ripped me to pieces if Jess wasn’t holding his arm calming him down. My mate looked at me and then at Lewis and Fred.

“Father, Brother. He’s my mate,” she said in such a quiet voice that if we weren’t wolves, we wouldn’t have heard her.

I was so shocked and even more scared to find out my mate was the baby sister of the Alpha to the largest and strongest pack. Now his reaction made slightly more sense he was just acting as any big brother would.

“Layla, Peter, Lewis, Fred, and Rhianna conference room now. Everyone else is dismissed. And if somebody could clean this mess up and fix the table that would be great thanks.” Jess said. Her tone was calm, but it left no room for argument.

Following Jess, all of us made our way to the conference. I walked next to Layla and went to hold her hand which looked like she wanted me to as well, but Lewis growled when he saw my hand move toward her, so I didn’t try that again. Layla looked a little sad about it and August whimpered wanting to hold her.

When we entered the conference room there was a small round table in the middle with chairs all around it.

“Everyone take a seat please, we are going to talk about this calmly and clearly,” Jess said.

I decided it would look a bit better if I sat at the end of the table where Layla wasn’t. When I did sit down, she looked hurt and I wanted nothing more than to go to her side, August was telling me to do so, but I knew we had to calm down and get everything over with if this was going to go the way we all wanted it to.

Layla sat opposite me. Jess and Lewis were to the right of me, and Rhianna and Fred were on my left. We kind of sat like points on a compass. No one spoke I wasn’t sure who should start but then Jess started.

“Right, Layla, you say that Peter is your mate?” Layla nodded “Peter, judging by how you reacted I would say that you know that you two are mates as well?”

“Yes, Luna. I didn’t mean to do what I did, I was fighting August for control and well….” I trailed off as I felt so ashamed of what happened, I did not want to act like that the first time I found my mate, I wanted to do it so perfectly. I messed up big time I knew it.

“So that gives you the right to assault my little girl!” Fred shouted at me.

I flinched when he said the word assault, is that really what I did? I felt like the world’s biggest asshole. I looked up at Layla to see how she felt about what her father said is true or not.

“Father, he did not assault me.” Layla looked at me and smiled. I would do anything for my princess.

“Fred! You are hardly one to talk! May I remind you that you were balls deep in me within 10 minutes of meeting me!” I turned red; I honestly did not need to hear that. And by the disgusted looks on Lewis and Layla’s faces, they could’ve done without hearing it also. Fred turned away grumbling to himself.

“Alright. You two are mates. But if you do anything to her that she does not want or hurt her in any way, I will kill you without hesitation.” Lewis said this so matter of factually that I actually gulped.

I nodded at him and said “I would die before I or anyone else hurt her. I promise.” I looked him dead in the eye saying this, so he knew I was telling the truth.

He gave me a scrutinizing look and then nodded stiffly. I turned to face Layla who hadn’t taken her eyes off me. She gave me the most amazing smile, I nearly lost control but managed to keep August under wraps this time. I could not wait to spend time with my mate.
