Chapter twenty-two

JESS’S POINT OF VIEW Once the whole Layla and Peter thing was resolved I took Lewis for a walk around the garden, so he could calm down. It must be hard seeing your baby sister grow up for her to find her mate, the fact that he near enough helped raise her as well. We walked toward the fountain they have that’s near the stage where I’ll be having my ceremony later tonight. And sat on the edge of it just listening to the water. “What is Peter like?” He asked so timidly I almost didn’t hear him. I knew what he meant; he wanted to know how good of a partner he will be for his baby sister. “He’s really good and gentle. He will always wait for the girl to be ready and would never force her into anything she didn’t want or was not comfortable with. He is also such a romantic guy, he told me all the things he would do to win over his mate to make sure she would never feel unloved or mistreated. He is probably the best choice for your sister, I promise.” He looked at me with big sad eyes; it was almost as if he was losing his own daughter. He sighed and looked into the fountain watching the water ripple. After a few moments of silence, he finally spoke. “I don’t have a choice, I can’t even fault him. He’s a strong guard; I felt his power this morning at training. Him and his brother almost put me on my ass.” He ended with a chuckle. “He doesn’t have any Ranked blood in him, does he?” I shook my head “Not that I know of. His father was head guard but got promoted to head security for the pack. Now Andrew is the head guard and Peter is his next in line. Although I know he is a 6th generation, Lycan, so they both are the strongest current warriors there are for the pack.” Lycan’s are basically a purer vision of Werewolves. They are stronger, smarter, and faster than wolves. They're also more known for their vicious nature. When they shift, they look like a halfway point when werewolves shift. Just much more humanoid in shape almost. Lewis looked almost shocked; I guess he wasn’t expecting that answer. “That explains why the pair of them was almost as fast and strong as me then.” He said almost looking anxious. “No one can be better than my Daddy. My Daddy is the most amazing person ever and the best Alpha.” I said all this while I straddled his lap. He smiled up at me and kissed me gently while cupping my face. "Thanks, kitten. You managed that really well, by the way, it was such a turn-on. seeing you in control." He pressed himself against my core making sure I could feel his erection. I turned red looking around making sure no one else was around, but unfortunately the guards were doing a perimeter walk around the packhouse now. Once we talked, we walked around a bit, until I remembered that I needed to try my Luna dress on. “I’m going to go find Layla to try my dress on, okay Daddy?” he nodded, and with that, I kissed his cheek and ran off. I knocked on her bedroom door; I only had to wait a few moments for it to open. “Peter?” I wasn’t really shocked, I knew they wanted to get to know each other and simply spend time together. Although his bulge in his trousers was very noticeable. “Yeah. We weren’t doing anything I swear!” he looked a bit scared like I would tell Lewis it had just been the two in her bedroom or something. I laughed. “Yeah, I know you’re not like that. Don’t worry I won’t tell Lewis. But I do need to borrow your Mate so I can finally try my finished Luna dress on.” I looked over to find Layla sitting on the bed, a little flushed and slightly annoyed. Had I actually interrupted something? Layla spoke “Peter, could you just give us a few moments, please?” he nodded, walked over to her she lifted her head for a kiss, but instead he kissed her forehead. She seemed a little hurt. When he left the room, she sighed and looked sad. I went over to her and sat next to her on the bed. “What’s up?” I asked generally worried now. “Did he do something wrong?”
