Chapter twenty-three

LAYLA’S POINT OF VIEW I thought when Peter and I entered our room he would have wanted to mate and mark me. Which I was all too ready for. Especially after our first meeting. I felt his hard-on against my core when he had me against the wall and honestly, I could not care less. I wanted him so much. The moon goddess gave me my mate, and he kept pushing me away. I kept trying to get him to touch me when my door was finally shut. I mean we did have very intense make-out sessions, of which I know he wanted me just as much as I wanted him. But for whatever reason he didn’t give in, every other male wolf would have killed to be my mate I know but all I wanted was Peter he was just perfect. Once Jess and I were alone she probably noticed I was upset. “He didn’t do anything!” I exclaimed falling back on my bed exasperated. “Ahhh.” She said in-breath as though she knew what the matter was. I propped myself up on my elbows and looked at her lifting an eyebrow for her to spill. “Well, Peter is actually a very possessive and romantic guy. He just wanted your first time together to be perfect, as he already knows that it’ll be your first time in general.” She said with an understanding look on her face. “But earlier in the dining room, he was more than willing to do something then?” I said quizzically. “That was because August, his wolf, took control. He didn’t want to do that, Peter wants to woo you and make sure you two are in love with each other so there isn’t a chance of rejection. August on the other hand is just a plain old male wolf, who sees what likes and tries to go for it. Peter just doesn’t want to scare you away.” She said this so motherly, that I almost forgot she was the Luna, I was happy she was going to be my sister-in-law even if she didn’t know it yet. But I felt me and her were already sisters. “Really?” if that was honestly all it was then I was happy to wait if it made him feel more comfortable. Even though I knew there was nothing on this earth that would make me reject him. “Yes, Layla. He loves you with everything he has.” She said this while tucking my hair behind my ear. “Plus, he is also possibly thinking that if he did mark and mate you to soon, your brother would definitely kill him.” She said this and just started laughing. It was true Lewis would defiantly want him dead if or when he de-flowered his baby sister, which I hoped wouldn’t be too long of a wait. After our talk, I felt much better. So, we walked over to my little sewing room, which was just a walk-in closet turned sewing room. I made the Luna close her eyes so that she could see it in full when it was on. I added a little Amethyst heart-shaped crystal that rested in-between her breasts. I knew she would like it, but I was still nervous, I wanted it to be a surprise. I positioned her so she was standing dead in front of the full-length mirror. I stepped back a few paces so that I wasn’t in the reflection. “Okay, now open,” I said excitedly. For me, it felt like a very tense few seconds of silence. Her jaw dropped and then turned into the biggest smile I had ever seen on her. I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding, she liked it, she really liked it. “It’s beautiful Layla. Thank you so much!” she said almost with tears in her eyes. She spun around and hugged me. “I’m really glad you like it, I was really nervous about the extra thing I added just for you,” I said indicating the crystal. “I love it!” she exclaimed almost jumping up and down.
