JESS’S POINT OF VIEW
It was Friday afternoon and even though Lewis forgave me for lying to him, I still felt guilty about doing it, but I couldn’t handle being told I would run for help because I couldn’t stand up for myself.
I was just walking back to the packhouse, with Luca and Chris, who are looking for their mates, from reading in the library. This pack has a couple one in the packhouse and two more in town. I decided today I would go to one of the ones in town to stretch my legs a bit and get some fresh air. I love reading books, especially supernatural books, even most of our kind regarded it as typical human arrogance with how werewolves and all other supernatural beings are made to look like.
My nose was basically back to normal now just a little tender still. I was always somehow to heal even more quickly than most other wolves, I've never really questioned it. It wasn't a bad thing, and it came in useful, so I thought there was no need to ponder on it at all.
We had just come up to the front doors of the packhouse when Kane came up to us.
“Luna, your presence is required in the Alpha’s office, right away.”
Kane relived Luca and Chris of babysitting duty, and I followed Kane up the stairs toward Lewis’s office thinking what on earth could be the matter. Whether it had to do with what happened yesterday, I hoped not. I’m the one that wants to deal with Rebecca myself not Lewis or the guards. When we reached outside the office doors, I caught a familiar scent one I haven’t smelt in what felt like ages.
I pushed past Kane and barged through the office door without knocking and ran straight into a pair of strong arms.
“There’s my little, Jesse,” Peter said picking me up and spinning me in the air I was laughing too much to really notice he was only in shorts. That’s when I heard Lewis growling from his chair behind his desk.
“Shut it you, I haven’t seen him in almost two weeks.” His face looked shocked when I said this.
Peter let me go and that’s when I noticed that the rest of the guys were there. I hugged each one of them in turn, even though they were in nothing but shorts.
“When did you guys get here?” I was so excited to see them that I didn’t register Lewis being more pissed off and Angelo shuffling on his feet ready to pull these guys off me if needed.
“Only about a few minutes ago. We had to have an argument with your guards to not throw us in the cells.” Andrew nodded to a couple of wolves I didn’t notice were in the room, Richard and Derick.
That’s when it dawned on me why all the ranked males in this room were on edge; I completely forgot to tell Lewis I had invited them.
I turned to face Lewis, who had an eyebrow raised waiting for me to explain. “Ummm…… Sorry.” I didn’t quite know what to say, to me it all seemed like a funny misunderstanding, but I don’t think that’s how Lewis thinks of it.
