I was shivering from sitting in the freezing ground that my teeth were chattering. Without saying a single word, Theo easily scooped me up into his arms. He held me tightly against his chest and carried me all the way home.
I rested my head against his shoulder and closed my eyes and listened to the beating of his heart.
My mind was a complete mess. Just a few hours ago, I was planning to take my children and run far away from him but now I couldn't help but wish what I saw was not true.
