Noah was right. It was too dangerous right now. "Okay," I whispered, the fight completely leaving my tired body. "Tomorrow morning. First light." We didn't go down to the dining room for dinner. We ignored the knocks on the door offering us food. We ate some snacks and junks Noah had packed in his bag. And played silly games with the kids. We drew pictures and told them stories, pretending that everything was perfectly normal so they wouldn't be scared. When it was finally time for bed, Noah slept on the sofa near the fireplace and I laid down right next to my kids. I didn't sleep a single wink though. We woke the twins up and dressed them in their warm clothes when morning came because I was just too eager to leave. I zipped up my suitcase and grabbed my coat. My heart was pounding
