"Theo did," Leo mumbled reluctantly.
"That's right," I smiled, wiping a tear from Leo's cheek.
"He stood right in front of us like a shield and chased the bad man away, and he promised he would never let anyone hurt us again. He is trying very hard to be a superhero again."
The twins looked at each other but they still didn't look convinced.
"Do we have to call him Dad?" Lilian asked, her voice still a little bit hesitant.
"No, sweetie," I promised, kissing her forehead. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. You can just call him Theo. You can take all the time you need to get to know him. And if you ever feel scared, you just tell me, and I will protect you. Okay?"
