Marie and Johnny moved into their new home on Labor Day weekend of 1967. They had their wedding that Saturday, with a dinner at Sam"s Restaurant in the upstairs dining room and spent their honeymoon at the Hilton in Manhattan. They spent most of Monday on Delancey Street on the Lower East Side in Manhattan buying furniture at bargain prices, though by evening they had only a couple of beanbags, a coffee table, a radio, TV and a queen-sized bed. By the time they returned home that night they felt as if they were the happiest couple on Earth. “Isn"t this wonderful?” Marie sighed as she gazed up at the ceiling of the living room, lying back in Johnny"s arms as they sprawled across one of the bean bags. “I"ll be taking Cloud Nine back to work tomorrow. It"s everything I had daydreamed about.
