“SURPRISE,” SAID ELENA as she stepped inside Fianna’s busy shop. Upbeat music was playing, several stylishly dressed women were shopping and trying on outfits, and Fianna was in the midst of all the activity. Elena smiled. It felt good to return to old friends. Wanting to check on her shop, she’d come straight from the airport.
“Elena, you’re back!” With her wild red curls flowing behind her, Fianna raced toward her and enveloped her in a hug. “I was so sorry to hear about your dad. How is he doing?”
