“Babe, wake up, late for work.” My hands searched for the phone that was making so much noise but failed. I groaned and groaned, turned and nearly killed someone with my death stare. There was an alarm that was ringing somewhere yet not sure where. “Babe.” I cried out again, the arms I was sleeping in warm and heaven, just the alarm disturbing my peace. John shifted, patting until he found his phone, switching the alarm off and coming back to collect me in his arms. I did not have to be told twice, falling back into sleep quickly where I belonged. It felt like a minute when my body jilted back from sleep yet I knew hours had passed. The light shone through the room from the balcony doors. I tore away from his embrace with guilt eating at me for surely John was late
