Anwen Is Disappointed In Rion

In the morning, Odette escorted Daniel and Zen to the palace courtyard, to the horse carriage that was waiting for them. The two children were going to be escorted by two royal knights to the Magnolia Residence.

"I will miss you very much," said Odette, who was currently crouching down in front of Daniel. The boy didn't say anything, but he hugged Odette tightly. Odette kissed Daniel's forehead as soon as the boy let go of her. "Please grow up healthy." 

Now she turned to look at Zen, and the boy's face immediately turned red. What's more, when Odette touched his cheek gently he looked like he was about to burst into a cry.

"You are amazing. Daniel is very lucky to have a brother like you," said Odette.

"Th-thank you. You are so kind, like an angel, I'm lucky to meet you," Zen said with a shy face. It was ridiculous in Rion's eyes.

"I-I have something, and I want to tell you something, Miss Odette," Zen continued. Odette raised an eyebrow and asked, "What is that?"

Zen took out a rose that he had been holding and hiding behind his back. He gave the flower while saying, "I love you, Miss Odette."

Everyone who heard this stared and opened their mouths subconsciously, as well as Odette. The woman forgot to breathe for a few seconds.

"Tch, that's ridiculous," Rion snarled. Trish, Anwen, and Arlo glanced at him at the same time. Anwen couldn't help but smile when she saw her brother's annoyed expression and tried to hide it.

"W-what did this kid just say?" Arlo muttered in disbelief.

"I-I..." Odette stuttered.

'WHAT DO I HAVE TO SAY?!' She screamed in her mind.

"If Miss Odette doesn't want to accept it, that's fine. Well, I'd be heartbroken, but I'm a man with a big heart, so this afternoon, I'll be fine," Zen said with a big smile.

Did the child actually understand what he was saying or not? Odette wondered in her mind. Besides, why did she take Zen's words seriously? Zen was just a kid.

"Okay, I accept it," she said, as she accepted the flowers from Zen.

"Re-really?!"

"Of course, but I don't like a stupid and unemployed man, so, if you want to be my boyfriend, you have to be a smart man and have a good job," said Odette with a sweet smile.

"No way," Rion spoke up, then stepped closer to Zen and Odette.

"Your Majesty…." Zen's eyes blinked, as he stared at Rion's flat face.

"I told you, you're still too young to talk about things like this. Besides, this country doesn't allow children to get married before they reach the age of seventeen," Rion said, taking the whole thing very, very seriously. "It's written in the king's rule book chapter 5, page 150, paragraph 3, those who violate it will be paraded into the square and lashed 100 times."

His words made Zen gulp. The laws in his country were very harsh.

"Uhm… Sorry, Miss Odette, looks like we have to break up, I don't want to be whipped a hundred times," Zen said quietly. Odette didn't know how to express her face. It was a little embarrassing to hear the boy's words.

"Please don't feel hurt and hate me, you're the best woman I've ever met. You definitely won't have any trouble getting a boyfriend, I'll go now," said Zen.

He gave Odette a short kiss on the cheek, then bowed politely to the king and the others. Then Zen grabbed Daniel's hand and went inside the horse-drawn carriage.

Odette kept staring at Daniel and Zen's carriage until it passed the gate. She stood up, and without saying anything to anyone, she walked into the palace. Now it was her turn to go.

Her unusual demeanor made Anwen feel astonished, as did Trish and Arlo, while Rion just stood there like a statue.

Anwen soon followed, and when she arrived beside Odette, she asked, "Miss Ody, what's wrong? Are you alright? You look a little pale."

"Is that true?" Odette turned her head with a smile, and Anwen nodded.

"Are you sick, Miss Ody?"

"No." Odette stopped, it made Anwen also stop. Anwen was surprised when Odette suddenly hugged her. She said, "Thank you, Anwen. Thank you for everything, I will definitely miss you very much."

It surprised Anwen for the second time. Anwen let go of Odette's embrace and looked at the woman in confusion.

"What are you saying, Miss Ody? Why do you talk like you were leaving? Miss Ody… you're not going anywhere, are you?"

"I want to go to the Lilium Residence and plan to live there." Odette walked back but was soon blocked by Anwen.

"No!" The girl spread her arms, while she was forbidding Odette to go.

"Anwen, please let me through. I'm only going to Lilium's Residence if you want to see me you can go there any time."

"It won't be the same if you go there. Anyway, Miss Ody, you must stay here! If you leave, what about my brother? Please don't go, my brother really needs you. Stay here, and I beg you to take care of my brother," Anwen pleaded.

Rion, who was walking in with Trish, stopped in his tracks when he saw Odette and Anwen in front of him.

"Why is Princess Anwen blocking Odette's path like that?" Trish muttered.

Rion did not respond, the flat-faced man continued his steps which had been stopped.

As they got closer, they could hear the two women's conversation.

"Let her go, Anwen," said Rion, it made the two women look at him at the same time.

"Brother…" Anwen said quietly, as she lowered her hands and looked at her brother with sad eyes.

"From now on, she is no longer my doctor. Unauthorized people are f*******n to enter and live in the palace. Now she is a nobody and has no interest in this palace, so she must leave."

Rion's words were like a knife that pierced Odette's heart. She felt like crying, but Odette held it in and kept smiling in front of Anwen.

"He's right. So, let me go, Anwen," she said, then walked past Anwen, who was still looking at Rion.

"Do you want to say something?" Rion asked as Anwen continued to stare at him without blinking.

"Did Miss Ody make such an unforgivable mistake that you fired her, and said something bitter like that earlier?"

"No," Rion flatly said.

Anwen stared at her brother silently for a few seconds before she said, "I'm disappointed in you."

Rion was stunned.

"Anwen..." He looked sadly at his younger sister, who was currently running with her back to him.

Meanwhile, Trish, who didn't know why Rion fired Odette, wondered in his mind. What really happened? He glanced at the king, and found the king's face that looked sad, but tried to cover it.
