Odette Has Fever

1055 Words
Those voices made Odette frightened. Who was it? Odette was scared but she forced herself to get up. She got out of bed and staggered toward the door. From there, she peeked out through a gap and was surprised when she saw the scene outside, which was very chaotic. Things were strewn on the floor, while the tables and chairs were overturned, as were the shelves near the cupboards. Who did all those things? Was it a thief? Her eyes shifted slightly from the mess and widened when she saw a gray-haired man tinkering with an empty cupboard. Was that Rion? Did she miss him so much that she saw the thief as Rion? She blinked her warm eyes a few more times and then tried to focus and get a good look at the man out there. She didn't see it wrong. The man was indeed Rion, but from the behavior shown, it seemed that the man was being taken over by his alter. So far, the alter she knew, who liked to make a mess, was Lucifer. But how did Lucifer get to this place? "S-stop!" Odette opened the door and screamed weakly when she saw the man trying to roll over the cupboard. The wardrobe and the property there were not Odette's. If anything was damaged, then she must pay compensation. After the man heard Odette's voice, he immediately turned around, glared at her, and smirked. Odette's guess was right, the man that stood in front of the cupboard was Lucifer. Odette held on to the door, as she felt like falling, while Lucifer walked briskly towards the woman. "Where's the box?" asked Lucifer a moment after he stood in front of Odette. "What box?" asked Odette, in a weak tone. She even had trouble lifting her eyelids. "The box that encloses my soul!" Odette didn't answer. She leaned her head against the door. She felt so unwell. This made Lucifer hiss, and then burst into the room. He searched the room and again made a mess. Moments later, he was annoyed that he couldn't find what he was looking for. He also walked over to Odette, and immediately pushed her back roughly. It immediately made Odette fall down. "HEY! Where did you hide it?" Lucifer asked, and he didn't feel the least bit guilty. Odette didn't answer, and that made Lucifer even more annoyed. "Hey, I asked you, answer me!" "Uh… Mom… Mom…." Odette closed her eyes and pitifully called her mother. She was delirious because of her fever. It was distracting Lucifer. "Mom… I'm sick." Odette was now crying. "Mom… it really hurts." Tears flowed from the corners of her eyes, and Lucifer stared at her, unmoved. "You look like an abandoned duckling. Where did your mother go? Did she leave you?" he asked her curtly. Odette did not respond to Lucifer's words. The woman kept on deliriously calling for her mother, and this made Lucifer rub his ears in frustration. Odette's voice really bothered his hearing. "Where's your mother? Tell me, I'll drag her here," said Lucifer, but he was frustrated that Odette didn't stop. She never responded to what he had to say. "Tsk, you fowl!" he cursed. Odette was silent. "Hmm?" Lucifer raised an eyebrow in surprise because Odette suddenly fell silent for a moment after he cursed. Odette tilted her body towards Lucifer and curled up in the cold. "It's cold," muttered Odette, very quietly. Lucifer raised his hand slowly and then grabbed Odette's shoulder. He felt that the woman's body under the blanket was shaking. He opened the compress on Odette's forehead, he thought that the compress was what made Odette cold. Unfortunately, it was not. For a moment, he was silent as he looked at Odette's cold face. For the first time, he felt sorry for someone. He took a deep breath and stood up. He picked up all the clothes that were scattered on the floor. Lucifer took Odette's body and put her back on her bed. Then he draped the clothes one by one on top of Odette. He thought that they would make Odette warmer. He also took all the pillows around Odette and placed them on her back. However, after all he had done, Odette was still shivering. Lucifer was restless and he scratched his head in frustration. What should he do to make Odette stop shivering? After scratching his head and neck several times, he finally took off his shoes. He pulled and lifted Odette's blanket rather roughly and laid down next to her, under the same blanket. Some of the clothes he had put on top of Odette, fell to the floor. Lucifer tilted his body, and then pulled Odette's body into his arms. The warmth of Lucifer's body attracted Odette to get closer, and closer. Her head writhed a few times before she finally calmed down after burying half of her face on the man's chest. Lucifer laughed lightly because he was amused and felt funny at Odette's behavior. He thought Odette was like a duckling, trying to find the warmth under its mother's wings. "You duck," he said softly as he smiled crookedly. *** In the morning. Rion opened his eyes slowly and was surprised to find himself hugging a woman. As he looked at the brown hair that was under his nose, he already knew the woman he was hugging. He let go of his arms and got up slowly. The man tried not to make a sound that would wake Odette up. After he successfully sat up, he looked at Odette, who was sleeping. His hand moved slowly to move the hair that covered a part of the woman's face. When he saw Odette sleeping peacefully like this, Rion's heart warmed. He smiled, there was an instant urge inside of him to kiss her, but he held back. He shook his head once, to get rid of the inappropriate thoughts in his head, after which, he turned his attention to the surroundings. He was flabbergasted at all the chaos that was around them. Right now, there were so many questions in his head, one of them was how he could sleep with Odette. . . . ____________________ From the author: Ahhh... apparently Lucifer still has a heart and he was drawn to help Odette.
