Lucifer and Odette were still standing opposite each other on the terrace.
"It's not your fault, Rion," said Odette. She was surprised when Lucifer suddenly threw a chair at her. Luckily, she managed to dodge.
"Don't ever call me by that name. I'm Lucifer, not Rion," said Lucifer in a warning tone. He seemed to really hate Rion.
Odette was tense. She had to be extra careful. Lucifer had a very bad temper. Meanwhile, in his subconscious, Rion was in the middle of darkness. He looked around. There was only endless darkness.
'Don't ever call me by that name. I'm Lucifer not Rion."'
Rion was surprised when he could hear Lucifer's voice speaking to someone in an angry tone, then he became tense when he realized that the person speaking to Lucifer was Odette.
"Lucifer, don't hurt her!" He shouted while looking in all directions, trying to find Lucifer's figure but found nothing. Rion ran back and forth anxiously. What if Lucifer hurt Odette? Last time, he threw Odette against a wall and injured her head. This made Rion feel so worried.
However, no matter how far he ran, all he found was darkness. Finally, Rion stopped and clutched his head in frustration. He really hoped Odette was okay.
"Let me go!"
He was startled again when he heard the voice. It was Odette's voice that sounded panicked, followed by Lucifer's laughter and a commotion like something was falling.
What happened?
"What?"
His eyes widened as a blinding light appeared before him and showed what was going on outside. Odette was dangling, holding on to the edge of the terrace.
"Lucifer, please." The girl looked at him, or rather at Lucifer.
"A very beautiful suffering face," said Lucifer as he looked at Odette, who grimaced because she couldn't hold on any longer.
"Help." The girl looked in pain.
Lucifer crouched down. "I will help you relieve the pain you are feeling."
Lucifer smiled cruelly, then started to release Odette's grip from the edge of the terrace.
"Lucifer, stop it!" Rion was shocked to see what Lucifer was doing.
Odette's heart was beating very hard when her hands were now in Lucifer's. She looked down and swallowed hard. She was at a height of twenty meters, if she fell, she would not survive.
She looked up again, and saw Lucifer grinning, then his hands released.
"NO!" Rion jolted.
"Ah!" Odette thought she was going to fall, but the man who had let go of her hand quickly grabbed her hand again.
She looked up and saw the look in the man's eyes had changed.
"Ri-Rion...?" she spoke softly.
"Give me your hand." Rion stretched out his other hand and asked the woman to grab it. After their hands intertwined, Rion started to help Odette up, and due to a strong tug, Odette fell into Rion's arms. Nervously, she stepped back and almost fell back, luckily Rion quickly caught her.
"If you want to die, tell the truth, so I don't have to bother saving you,” the man said curtly.
"I-it's not like that."
Rion snorted and then released his arms from Odette, then stepped away from the edge of the terrace.
"You really want to die?" he asked again when Odette didn't move from her spot. Odette was a little surprised. Was she daydreaming? She must had been in shock from what had just happened.
"Did Lucifer throw this at you?" Rion asked while picking up the broken chair. Odette nodded and explained that she was fine because she managed to dodge.
"Oh."
Odette's expression changed drastically when she heard Rion's response. His word 'Oh' sounded very annoying.
After giving that super short response, Rion looked at Odette from bottom to top. There were no visible cuts or bruises. That meant the girl was telling the truth. Knowing this, he felt very relieved.
He recalled the time he heard and saw the interaction between Odette and Lucifer. That had never happened before. When he relapsed, he never heard of anything that happened or what he did. Earlier, he felt like he was the third person to witness what happened between Lucifer and Odette. It was like watching a show.
"Rion." Odette snapped her fingers in front of Rion's eyes when she saw the man lost in thought.
"What are you thinking?" she asked, after Rion woke up from his daydream.
Rion was silent for a moment, but Odette asked Rion to tell her how he felt, or tell her if he felt something strange.
Rion looked at the chair in his hand, then told Odette that he heard and saw Odette's interaction with Lucifer. He was confused, but Odette explained to him that it could happen. The host could see what happened when the alter took over his body.
"You mean I was able to see that because Lucifer allowed it?"
Odette nodded. Actually, Rion was still confused as to why Lucifer did that but he had to leave immediately when he saw a group of carriages bearing ash leaves entering the palace gate.
The King of Naturi had arrived. His arrival was on time.
Rion put his scarf back on and Odette rebuked him.
"I told you not to wear that. It makes you sweat."
"Just for a while."
One type of patient that made doctors have to be very patient was the type like Rion. He always did what he wanted, stubborn, and didn’t follow any advice.
"Then don't wear it too tightly." Odette approached and took over Rion's scarf and helped the man put it on. "There you go. Your wound is covered and your skin can still breathe. It's actually better if you don't wear it. You look weird wearing this."
"I don't care." Rion immediately turned around and left the place.

The carriage stopped. A soldier opened the carriage door, then a middle-aged man stepped out of the carriage followed by a young blonde woman. Rion and Cristela welcomed them warmly.
"I was very pleased to hear that His Highness Edward would be visiting Panthera," Cristela said with a friendly smile. Rion secretly glanced at his grandmother cynically. The woman had an expression that was 180 degrees different from what he used to see. The kindness and hospitality she was showing now were exaggerated.
"This is my daughter. Guen," Edward said, introducing the young woman standing next to him. Guen bowed gracefully, as a greeting to King Arion D. Panther and Her Highness Cristela.
Cristela complimented Princess Guen's beauty, then let the two guests enter the palace, and times of boredom had begun for Rion. He had to listen and participate in small talks with King Edward.
Rion didn't realize that Princess Guen repeatedly stole a glance at him.
