Odette's annoyance with Rion disappeared for a moment. She felt sorry for the man, it seemed that Marine was one of the most important people to him. Rion had experienced many losses in his life. "Marina must mean a lot to you," she said.
"Yeah. That's how it was. She was the only good thing in that hell. She often got into trouble because of me. She was lashed once for being caught teaching me how to cook."
Rion told Odette about the day when King Roland found out that Rion was learning to cook, he was furious. Rion and Marina were sentenced to lashes. All the servants and residents of the castle who participated in hiding the secret were also lashed.
However, out of all people, the one who received the most lashes was Marina. After she received the whip sentence, Marina was fired from her job as a servant. Not long after the incident, Rion was informed by the servant that Marina had died due to illness and left three-year-old Bee.
"Wait a minute," Odette quickly stopped Rion's story when she heard Bee's name. "Did you say Bee? Marina's son is named Bee?" she asked to make sure of something.
Rion looked at Odette closely and understood the reason why Odette asked about it.
"Do you think Bee's personality has anything to do with Marina's son? I don't think so," he said.
"Why is that?"
"I don't know. I have a feeling Bee is only related to my mother, because when he showed up, he came into my mother's room and cried there."
"Maybe all this is related. When you were taken over by Bee, you hugged me very tightly while calling me mom, and he said not to leave him, and he was afraid to be alone," said Odette, it made Rion freeze, the man forgot to breathe for a few seconds.
"Ahem." He normalized his expression, then tried to remember the past. Suddenly, his expression turned sad. Odette noticed the changes well.
"I often saw Marine hug Bee while singing, trying to put Bee to sleep," said Rion, while he remembered himself, who was battered while he peeked at Marina and Bee from the gap in the door.
"At that time, were you jealous of Bee?" asked Odette.
"Hm. Very jealous. Seeing Bee, who still has a mother, who loved him very much made me jealous, and miss my mother," Rion admitted.
Odette felt that Bee's personality was a personality that represented Rion's desire to be like Bee, who still had a mother.
Rion went back to eating his food, as well as Odette. Due to chatting, their soup was getting cold. A few moments later, Odette had finished her entire soup, until there was nothing left, while Rion was still eating.
The man ate slowly. Actually, Rion was currently thinking about the answer he would give to Odette, about how Lucifer got to that place.
"Umm … why was your grandfather so angry when he found out that you learned to cook?" Odette opened the conversation again, after a moment of silence. Rion was fighting in his head, because Odette asked that, not about Lucifer.
"That's because I'm a man and a crown prince. He thought that cooking is a woman's job, or rather a servant's job because noble women don't need to cook. In order for me to stop doing that hobby, he tortured me to the core. I don't deserve it." Rion poured tea from the teapot into the cup.
"Why is that? Wasn't your mother a noblewoman, and she also liked to cook?" asked Odette as soon as Rion finished drinking.
Rion explained something that made Odette quite surprised. "My mother was not from a noble family. She came from an ordinary family, but she was very talented. She was a cook and the first female doctor to work in the palace. Since my mother came from an ordinary family, the old carcass does not like my mother," Rion spoke in a flat tone.
Then he stood up and cleared the table. "You rest, I'll clean up this place and all Lucifer's mess," he added as he walked towards the sink.
Odette didn't say anything. She stayed where she was while watching Rion. She had just seen another side of Rion. That man looked a little brighter, unlike usual.
Meanwhile, Rion occasionally glanced at Odette and felt tense that she kept staring at him without blinking. He hoped Odette had forgotten her question about Lucifer.
Unfortunately, his wish was never granted.
"You haven't answered my question," said Odette.
Gosh!
'Why does she still remember anyway.'
He flattened his expression, then faced Odette. He looked straight at the woman.
"Last night I came here to see how you were, but I was taken over by Lucifer," he said frankly, without any emotion.
Before Odette asked the question 'why did you do that?' Or 'why do you want to see how I'm doing?' Rion quickly asked the question first.
"How did you sleep with Lucifer?" he asked, which caused Odette to open her eyes wider.
"W-what do you mean?"
"Just when I woke up, I found myself lying next to you. And last night, the one who took over my body was Lucifer, so, it's possible that the one who slept next to you all night was Lucifer. Do you really not know about that?" Rion asked, he turned the situation around and it cornered Odette.
Actually, he didn't want to talk about this, because it was a bit embarrassing, but he wanted to put Odette into a corner. Besides, he also felt very curious about himself suddenly waking up beside Odette.
He couldn't believe that it was Lucifer who did this. Was it possible that Bee also appeared and took over his body, and replaced Lucifer? Could it be that Bee was the one that lay next to Odette, and hugged the woman?
"I-I don't understand what you're talking about," said Odette with a red face.
"So, you really don't know?"
"No."
"Stupid. How can you not know that there was a man sleeping next to you? You're either sleeping or you're unconscious," Rion said in disbelief.
"I passed out, okay?" answered Odette and stood up.
"I had a high fever last night and I think I fainted. What are you doing here anyway and why do you want to see how I'm doing?" asked Odette, as she counterattacked, and that made Rion speechless.
