The Palace Is Attacked

1045 Words
"Huh?" Rion's eyes went wide when he saw several Randle Forest-dwelling monsters on the palace grounds attacking blindly. All the knights divided the tasks in fighting these creatures. Trish himself was fighting against a large creature, whose shape was a combination of a lizard and a bat. Rion ran quickly to save a maid, who was almost hit by a chimera. He picked up the maid, ran, and took her away from the creature. "Your Majesty." A knight who saw that Rion was not carrying a sword, threw his sword. Rion caught it and immediately used the sword to s***h the chimera that was chasing after him. He then kicked the creature away from him. "Take her to a safer place!" Rion said to the knight who had given him the sword. The knight immediately nodded, pulled the maid, and ran towards the palace entrance. Meanwhile, Rion quickly ran to the incoming chimera attack. After a while, he managed to win the battle. The situation outside the palace was truly as noisy as a party. Most of the knights fought to defeat the dozens of hybrid creatures, that had come from nowhere. The other few knights protected the people who were injured in the sudden attack. A 'Boom' sound was heard as Trish managed to overthrow his opponent. Not long after that, a blinding white light appeared in the center of the courtyard. All fighting stopped, and all the creatures lowered their heads. Rion noticed the behavior of the creatures, then with narrowed eyes, he fixed his focus on the light core. He immediately shouted, when he saw a huge shadow of a creature emerge from there. "TRISH, STAY AWAY FROM THERE!" he shouted to Trish, who was the closest to the creature. Trish immediately jumped back, as he quickly understood the meaning of the king's scream. ROAR! A creature that was bigger than the one creature appeared before them, and it roared very loudly. All eyes widen. The creature's size was no joke. When the creature raised its head, its neck rose to ten meters, almost taller than the palace tower. The four legs were short, but the tail was very long. That… was one of the most feared rulers of the Randle Forest. ARRRR! The creature roared again. Its purple eyes stared intensely at Rion, who was also staring back at it. Those purple eyes… looked familiar to Rion. ROAARRR! The creature looked up at the sky and roared louder. It swung its tail back and forth, and it swept all around, evenly. Rion, Trish, and all the knights jumped back and ran away from the swing of the tail. The few people who were late to dodge were thrown away into the air, as well as the few remaining monsters. BROK! BROK! BROK! Two of the palace towers fell, and the walls of the palace shattered and fell like pieces of a biscuit. Within seconds, the area was badly damaged. Inside the palace, Her Highness Cristela directed everyone to exit the building through the back door. She feared that if they stayed inside, they would be crushed by the ruins of the building. The creature lifted its tail and slammed it onto the ground. It caused the floor of the palace courtyard to shatter, and be thrown into the air. "Aagh!" Several knights again fell victim to the creature's tail attack. Its purple eyes focused on Rion, then focused its nest on Rion. It made Rion realize that the creature didn't attack based on its natural instincts, but on someone's commands. Rion desperately dodged the creature's attacks, as well as the rocks that were thrown. He fell as a result of the monster's tail crashing heavily on the floor. Trish lunged from behind. He was immediately thrown away by the tail of the creature. Trish bounced and tumbled for several meters, while Rion jumped and then spun around while he kicked a boulder at the monster. After that, he swung his sword to cleave the other chunks that were about to hit and fall on him. The other knights tried to help, but they ended up just like Trish. Rion ran fast. He swerved to avoid the falling debris. As he continued to move, he thought about the mastermind behind the creatures' attacks. Was it Emperor Dario? All this time, the one who really wanted to kill him was Emperor Dario, but for some reason, Rion felt doubtful. The king jumped high and climbed onto the tail that was swinging at him. Due to the creature's movement, he nearly fell. Luckily, he quickly plunged his sword deep into the creature's flesh to defend himself. He then dangled, twisted, and jumped on top of the creature's body. There, he was safe from a tail blow that could destroy him with just one hit. Even so, he couldn't hold on for long, because it was very difficult to keep his body balanced up there. He finally leaped down as the creature continued to move. It swung its tail back and forth and sent chunks of buildings bouncing in all directions. "You dance like an insect, Brother." The sound of the monster started Rion, who was dodging the rubble. Rion jumped back to put some distance, while the monster stopped its attack. "You… Aiden?" Rion knitted his brows and stared intently at the monster's purple eyes. The atmosphere that was previously noisy, was now suddenly quiet. Amidst the chaos, Rion stood face to face with the twenty-meter-sized monster. Trish, who had just stood up after being thrown away, was surprised when he heard the monster speak. It spoke to the king, and the other knights, who had just stood up seemed to also be surprised. They all looked at each other in bewilderment. They seemed to be asking each other about what they had just heard. "I'm flattered that you still remember my voice so well, Brother," said the monster. "And I am impressed that you are still alive after I threw you into the sea," said Rion. He added with a sarcastic tone, "The voice of a true loser like you, of course, I will never forget." A gust of wind blew away a curtain of dust emanating from the rubble of the building.
