The Kiss

Odette said that it was like Rion building a wall by putting together a thousand bricks. Rion arranged them so that the wall stood well. He accidentally broke one brick, and he always looked at the broken brick until he forgot about the nine hundred and ninety-nine bricks that had been arranged well. "Just because of one mistake you made, you feel bad and forget the nine hundred and ninety-nine good things you did. Rion, you are a good person, a good man, a good brother, and you are a good king." Odette looked at the window, through the gap in the open curtain. Outside, there were several people chatting happily. "Do you see those people?" she said, which made Rion turn his head, to follow Odette's gaze, and he saw the same thing Odette saw. "They can laugh happily like that because of you, and they can sleep well at night because of you." Rion was stunned and looked back at Odette. "Well, Rion, all of that is possible, because they have a great king like you. They can move about happily during the day, and sleep peacefully at night because they know their king is protecting them. You work day and night for them, you risk your life on the battlefield for them, and you rarely sleep for dealing with all the troubles that they have. Don't you deserve to be rewarded for all that hard work?" Odette's words made Rion feel very touched. Odette touched Rion's cheek, and let her warm palm rest there for a while. "Don't keep calling yourself bad because of one mistake you did. Look at all the good things you have done then you will realize that he really deserves to be appreciated," said Odette, smiling. Rion returned her smile with a faint smile, then he grabbed Odette's hand, which was still resting on his cheek. He pulled Odette closer to him. Surprised, Odette looked up to see Rion. She wanted to say something, but when she just opened her mouth, Rion quickly kissed her gently. Rion stared intently at the pair of blue eyes in front of him. He thought Odette would push him away and slap him, but the woman did nothing. Because he didn't get rejected, Rion deepened the kiss. His hands moved down slowly to wrap around Odette's hips and brought her into an embrace. Rion knew that what he was doing right now was inappropriate, but there was a desire within him that pushed him to do so. After a few seconds, he broke the kiss, and then looked at Odette, who was silent like a statue. She stared at him with empty eyes, as if her soul was in another world. Rion smiled, then touched Odette's cheek with his index finger. This made Odette stunned and moved from her daze. Her face turned very red when she saw Rion smiling gently at her. "Rion..." Odette spoke very quietly. Rion maintained his smile, then pulled Odette's head slowly into his broad chest, and hugged her tightly. 'Like the first snow of winter, you fell into my arms, and like the spring breeze you warmed my cold heart.' Rion kissed Odette's head, and then closed his eyes. He soaked in every comfort and serenity he was feeling right now. The same thing was felt and done by Odette. The woman returned Rion's hug. She rested her face on Rion's broad chest, while she closed her eyes. Being in Rion's arms like this felt very comfortable. She wished time could stop for a moment. She wanted to be in Rion's arms longer. "MISS ODY!" "Huh?" Odette and Rion opened their eyes at the same time when they heard Anwen's voice. They immediately let go of each other's arms when they heard the sound of Anwen's footsteps entering the house. "Miss Ody, where are you?" Anwen's voice was already in the living room. Odette and Rion panicked! Odette ran to lock the door, while Rion was busy looking for a place to hide. He wanted to get into the cupboard, but it was too small. "Miss Ody." Anwen knocked on the door. Rion immediately rolled under the bed, but he came out again when he saw his shoes. Odette patted her forehead when she saw Rion's ridiculous behavior. "Miss Ody, are you in there?" "Y-yes Anwen. Wait a minute." After she saw Rion was properly hidden under the bed, along with his shoes, Odette finally opened the door for Anwen. The door opened, and Anwen immediately said good morning to Odette with a cheerful face. "Good morning." Odette smiled awkwardly. Anwen saw that Odette was still wearing a nightgown. "Miss Ody, you just woke up? Am I disturbing you?" she asked. "N-no, not at all." Odette smiled stiffly. Meanwhile, from under the bed, Rion listened to the chatter of the two women. While he looked at Anwen's feet standing in the doorway, Rion hoped he wouldn't be caught. He knew that his wish had never come true, but this time he begged not to be found out. If Anwen saw him in Odette's room, Rion would be very embarrassed and would lose face when he met Anwen. Uh. After all, why did Anwen come to the place so early? Anwen noticed Odette, who was smiling stiffly at her. "Are you okay, Miss Ody?" she asked. She realized that Odette's attitude was not as usual. "I-I'm fine. W-why are you asking that?" "It's nothing, it's just that you look nervous," said Anwen, it made Odette a little tense, but she did her best to seem normal. "N-nervous? Th-that's not true. I am very fine." Her behavior made the young princess look at her suspiciously. Odette quickly diverted Anwen's attention when she saw that the girl was starting to suspect her. "Ah, Anwen what is this?" Anwen immediately followed the direction of Odette's conversation. She held up a small basket filled with fruits. "It's fruit. I bought this on my way here. It looked really fresh so I bought it for you," she explained. "Ah, thanks but this is too much." "I'll help you finish it. Hehe." Anwen smiled, showing a row of white teeth, and it made Odette chuckle. "So, Miss Ody, are you going to look for work today?" The reason Anwen came to that place, was because she wanted to keep the promise she had made yesterday. She said she would accompany Odette to find a job. "Yes." Odette nodded. "I'm going to take a shower and get ready first." "Then I will wait for you here." "DON'T!" . . . ___________________ From the author: Uff... Rion and Odette finally kissed.
