Even Though You're Not His Doctor, Can You Not Leave Him?

They walked through the rubble to enter the palace. Things were really busy inside. People were helping each other to fix all the mess, and help the injured victims. "Brother!" They walked over to Rion and Trish, who were talking to two palace officials. When they arrived, the two palace officials said goodbye, then left. At a glance, Rion and Odette exchanged glances. Odette was relieved when she saw that Rion was fine. "Brother, are you okay? What happened? Arlo said the palace was attacked by the Randle monster, how did that happen?" asked Anwen. Rion touched Anwen's head and smiled gently. "I'm fine," he said. When he saw his sister worrying about him, he felt that their relationship had really improved. Anwen then asked again, about how the Randle monster could get into the palace. Rion replied that the monsters were teleported, but when Anwen asked by whom? Rion was silent. He was hesitant to tell Anwen about Aiden. When Anwen kept asking stubbornly, he finally said it. "Aiden," Rion replied flatly. Anwen was taken aback. Her eyes widened as she heard the name Rion had just mentioned. Instantly the figure of Aiden appeared in her mind. "B-brother Aiden? H-is he still alive?" she asked in disbelief, and Rion answered her with a nod. "H-how...?" Odette looked at Anwen, who was very surprised. Odette remembered Anwen telling her about Queen Helen. She conspired to overthrow Queen Rose and Knight Lucas in order to pave the way for Aiden to become the next king by removing Rion from the throne of Panthera. Anwen started to cry. She loved Aiden as much as she loved Rion. She was very sad when Aiden was sentenced to death, but she strengthened her heart. Because Aiden was sentenced because he was responsible for his actions along with their mother. Now she knew that the brother she loved was still alive, but she didn't know how to express her feelings. She felt happy and grateful that Aiden survived the punishment given to him. At the same time, she was sad, because it seems that Aiden still had not changed, and didn't realize the wrong that he had done to Rion. In fact, if her mother and Aiden were not obsessed with the throne of Panthera, then they could've been a happy family. She could've been a very lucky girl, to have Rion and Aiden as her older siblings. Rion wiped Anwen's tears and hugged his sister. In Rion's arms, Anwen apologized. "Sorry, Brother," she said with a hoarse voice. "What for?" "For what Aiden and my mother did." Anwen felt guilty towards Rion. Rion suffered a lot because of the actions of her mother and brother. It had been more than six years and she still couldn't get over the fact. "Don't apologize for what they did wrong, because it's not your fault," Rion said. He patted Anwen's back to soothe her. "Rion, you won't hate me because I'm Aiden's sister and Queen Helen's daughter, right?" Anwen said quietly, and Rion smiled. Rion remembered that in the past, Anwen had also cried and said that after she fell from the horse. Helen then blamed Rion for the incident. "No. Never. You are my beloved sister, and I will always love you," said Rion as he gently stroked Anwen's head. Odette and Trish, who saw the brother and sister love each other so much, exchanged glances and smiled. While Rion and Anwen were still hugging, Odette went and joined the medics to help the injured people. Even though she was a psychiatrist, she believed she could do something to help. For the whole day, she spent her time helping the doctor stop the patient's bleeding, and became Doctor Jonathan's assistant. She prepared and provided the equipment needed during surgery to remove the broken glass in the patient's body. Doctors used opium and mandrake as pain relievers. These pain relievers should be administered by an experienced doctor, because it was difficult to adjust the dose to the patient's needs. For example, Mandrake, if the dose given was too high, it would disrupt the patient's heart rhythm, which could lead to death. Offf! Odette sighed for a moment after she separated out each medicine that would be given to the patients. It was already evening, but her work was not done yet. She and the other nurses still had to keep an eye on the patient's progress. Just as she was about to leave the room, Trish came and stood in the doorway. "Odette, are you here? Where's Doctor Alex?" Trish asked as he walked in. "He went to check on a patient. Do you need anything or can I help you?" Trish nodded then grabbed his right shoulder. "Actually, I want to ask for medicine for my shoulder. It feels a little sore, and it's a little swollen," he said. He sustained a shoulder injury when he was thrown against a wall this afternoon. "Sit down. Let me help you." Trish nodded and sat down in the chair in front of the table, where Odette was arranging the medicines. Odette walked out of the table to look at the wound on Trish's shoulder. "I have to see your wound." Trish unbuttoned the top of his shirt and lowered his shirt so his shoulders were exposed. Odette was quite surprised to see the wound on Trish's shoulder. "What do you mean a little swollen? It's already very swollen. Why are you just getting it checked now?" Odette spoke while she moved to deal with the wound on Trish's shoulder. "If it's like this, you can't swing your sword for a week and you can't lift too heavy a load or the swelling won't go away." "I'll work on it." Trish smiled as he remembered his almost inseparable work with swords and heavy weights. "You have to work on it or your injuries will only get worse." Odette reminded him. She then gave him pain and swelling medicine. She suggested that Trish should rest completely for at least two days, but Trish said that he couldn't do that, as the king needed him at this time. "Aiden's return will surely make the king reminisce about what happened six years ago. In that condition, he would relapse more easily, and when that happens, I have to be by the king's side," Trish explained, pulling back his shirt. Odette was silent. She was suddenly worried about Rion. "Are you really not the king's doctor anymore?" Trish asked, which surprised Odette before she nodded. "You heard what he said to me two days ago." Odette forced a smile. "That time at Green Castle, you said that I could meet you when I felt that you could be trusted. I already believed you could heal the king, but you left instead." "You know that I didn't leave because I wanted to. If Rion doesn't want me to be his doctor anymore, then I can't do anything." Trish looked at Odette intently and said, "Even though you're not his doctor anymore, can you stay around and not leave him?" "Huh?" Odette looked at Trish questioningly, while Trish just smiled and left without explaining the meaning of his words.
