Something about her seemed different, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Her presence made me uneasy, as if I had crossed paths with her before.
I stayed by Lydia's side, determined to lull her to sleep. The anger welled up within me at what Katherine had done to her. I had to keep my composure for Lydia's sake.
Once Lydia had drifted off to sleep, I quietly left the room and summoned the two maids, Faith and Grace, instructing them to find Katherine.
After waiting for what felt like an eternity, it became apparent that Katherine wasn't coming. I decided to go to her room myself. Upon arriving, I noticed Faith and Grace teasing her. They immediately lowered their heads upon seeing me, but Katherine continued to gaze at me, a curious intensity in her eyes.
