CHAPTER 4

573 Words
The main city of TI Gulha was warm and pleasant almost all year round, except in the rainy season. Most of the houses found in the main city were mainly bungalows made of stones or solid bricks due to the mountains rich in lime stone that is present in the land of Ti Gulha. The TI Gulhans take great pride in planting colorful flowers and plants in and around their houses. Most of the houses had creeping plants growing on the walls and on the roof of their houses. When Miciry fell on the other side of the portal, he found himself in a very beautiful garden. He looked around and noticed that he was no longer in D’ Wretched. The place he landed was warm and pleasant, not intensely cold like the community of D’ Wretched. It was night time at D’ Wretched, but here all around him was an over powering brightness from the sun. He got up and looked around, hoping to see Tiodidnah but his friend was not there. Up ahead he noticed a fair skinned boy, slightly younger than himself, with shoulder length black hairs, dressed in the finest clothes that he had ever seen. Miciry was too disoriented to speak, but as both of them looked at each other for a moment, the young boy smiled and walked up gallantly towards him and introduced himself as Mhaharanni. Miciry, also introduced himself. Mhaharanni took Miciry’s hand warmly while his eyes moved around him, noting the dirt and mud that stained and clogged to some parts of his exposed black skin and worn-out clothes. Mhaharanni was a lonely child. He was the only son of Raja Jircarge, the ruling Raja of Ti Gulha. His mother, Rajamahesi (Queen) Valtra, died while giving birth to him. He was raised by his elderly father, the king, and his elder sister, Cassidonah, who incidentally was over a hundred years older than him. He lived in the castle with his father, but none except a few persons knew he was the son of Ti Raja. Mhaharanni’s survival during his birth was kept secret from the people of Ti Gulha. Keeping his birth a secret, as ordered by the priest of Ti Gulha, gave him the opportunity to live a normal life devoid of the attention and the trappings of royalty. This was intended to help him move freely unnoticed by his people and learn their ways uncensored. It was also a way to protect the young prince from being a target of attack by enemies. The Castle Jicarge, named after the current Ti Raja of Ti Gulha, was the largest building in the entire continent, it was built on top of a mountain with the foundation buried deep within the mountain. A three story castle with each story being at least 1o ft, it had two large wings and several sub wings housing the military and many other officials and council members and their families, as well as the royal family members. It is said that the vastness of the underground floor of castle Jicarge could accommodate half of the entire population of the city if need be. The Castle had several windows all around it except in the throne room. The throne room was adorned with the Mahdipa’s coat of arms and flags with a purple background. The castle has a secret tunnel that led to the border close to the uninhabited lands.
