Chapter 26 August 2018 I rummaged through the first aid kit that Robert had retrieved from his car and pulled out gauze, medical tape, and some antibiotic ointment. Barry had regained consciousness and was sitting on the rooftop, propped against a nearby HVAC unit, with a blanket over his legs. Someone handed me a wet washcloth that I used to wipe the blood off the side of his face. I vaguely wondered where they had acquired it but was quickly distracted by trying to stem the blood flow. It was oozing from a sizable scrape on his forehead. “Jesus,” I muttered, applying the ointment while trying not to make the bleeding worse. After putting a big piece of folded gauze over the wound, I secured it in place with two long strips of the medical tape. “How you feelin’, Barry?” He seemed dazed
