The guys and I all sat back a little confused and slightly worried about what we had just heard from my son. He had mindlinked me to let me know that my daughter has a very strong sense of smell, beyond what we can do as full blooded wolves.
"She could just scent things differently because of her human side. We've never had a human/wolf hybrid. So, who knows how that would play out in physical abilities."
Jake said. Luke scoffed.
"Yeaa... let's not play dumb. There are too many things happening for it to not be what we're all thinking. What if it comes out that she is a Goddess chosen? What, then?"
"And what if she's not? Are we gonna keep her hidden and bound from the rest of the world in fear when she's nothing but a simple hybrid. She may have different abilities, but what if that's as far as it goes?"
Bruce said. He didn't like the idea of tucking her away from the outside world. He felt bad that as soon as she got her, we're already planning on ways to keep her hidden from a maybe potential threat that may or may not come. I couldn't think straight with the fear of losing her always on my mind. I sighed and stood up.
"Let's go find the pups."
We all left my office and walked towards the training grounds in silence when we felt an aura. Usually, only an alpha's aura could be felt like this, but to all of our suprise, we felt Stephen's. Jake started to jog to get to his son. He was concerned as to why his aura could be felt at such a distance. We were all worried and followed him, only to be met with a spectacular sight. He was fighting and to our shock and surprise, again, it was my little Kwen. We were all awe struck. Their movements and how they flowed with each other were fluided, and it flowed naturally. We all sat with our mouths opened as we saw Kwen knock him down as she spun into a standing position.
'Our pup is incredible!'
'Yeah, she's so strong.'
My small conversation that held enthusiasm with Axel was cut short when dread came flooding me. What could all this mean?
'Will she be in danger?'
I questioned myself. Axel growled and snarled in protest of it.
'Never!! She will be safe. I would never allow it!'
Axel gritted out. I tried taking deep breaths to calm myself, especially when Luke mindlinked me.
"Relax, alpha. She's gonna be fine. We will all protect her if she is who we believe her to be."
He put a hand on my shoulder, squeezing it. I looked at him and nodded. Jake was overly concentrated on his son as he fought, and we all sat and listened to what the children said after their fight. What did she mean by an 'invisible line'? What's crazier is that Stephen felt that same attraction towards her as well. I don't like how any of this is unfolding. My parents will be back tonight, and when they are, we're gonna need to have a sit down immediately.
We sat as we watched Kwen spar with both Logan and Daniel. She fights without her glasses, which, at first, concerned me. With each fight, she takes hits in the beginning, but towards the end, she comes back, able to block, defend, and counterattack expertly.
"Are yall seeing this?"
Bruce commented, breathlessly.
"s**t, for a second, I thought my ass was dreaming. How can she fight like that? Who taught her?"
Logan questioned.
"Stephen just mindlinked me saying that she told them that she has 3 black belts in hand. 2 she started a few years ago but couldn't get as far due to taking care of her mother and that she always wanted to learn MMA but never started. This girl is a beast in the making."
Jake said, which shocked all of us again. I snapped my head in his direction. He smiled up at me.
"You have a warrior on your hands, B. Whether she is the Goddess chosen or not, she will be a force to be reckoned with."
Jake continued. My chest swelled with pride. Not only is she gifted school wise, but she's also gifted in fighting as well.
Damn, Minnie... how did you raise her so well??? Did you even leave anything left for me to do?
I chuckled to myself as I smiled down at my daughter, being so proud of her and all I'm sure she'll accomplish. My thoughts were interrupted by a mindlink.
"Hey, son. Your mother and I are back. We're gonna get settled and then be over to meet our grandpup. Your mother is over the moon excited. She hasn't been able to talk about anything but meeting her since you told us about her."
My father chuckled deeply through our connection. I smiled.
"Dont act like you're not excited too. That's probably why mom's on cloud nine. She's feeling both of you guys' emotions."
We both laugh.
"You're probably right, son."
"Well, I can say this... we got a little warrior with this one, pops."
"Good. Another strong pup."
His voice was strong but gentle at the thought. I chuckled.
"Yea, and she's beating up your other grandpup as we speak. Defintely ask him about it later on."
We laugh again.
"I surely will."
With that, we disconnected, and I focused back on the children. Once she finished up beating up the boys, we all gathered back on the platform. Her brother gave her the biggest challenge, but in the end, she won against him as well. I was bursting from the seams with pride for my children. Kwen and Danny stood next to each other, giggling and smiling. I just noticed that Danny is bigger than his older sister. Yet, and still, she took down a soon to be alpha. As much pride as I felt for her, fear soon invaded my thoughts as I began to fear what all this could potentially mean. I tried to push those feelings aside. I walked up to my daughter and smiled down at her pretty face.
"I'm very proud of you, Kwen. You can't imagine all of our faces when we heard you sparing with these maniacs. Then to see you win... outrageously amazing. Good job, sweetheart." I take her chin in my hand, lifting her gaze to meet my eyes. My breath is always taken away at the sight of her gorgeous eyes. She smiled a shy smile at me.
"Thanks...dad."
My smile deepened. I can tell she still struggles with calling me that, but I hope in time it'll become as easy as breathing.
"Your grandparents have returned and are itching with excitement waiting to meet you. Would you like to say hello, little one?"
Her eyes widened, and she looked just as excited. I saw the flash of doubt enter those beautiful eyes but was quickly replaced with determination. I smiled, thinking my daughter would be a force no matter what.
"Ok."
Was all she said.
