I sighed loudly. I looked across the table, and Kwen looked faked busy, rummaging through her papers and looking back and forth to her laptop. I could see the hint of a smile creeping onto the corners of her lips, which irked me more. The woman kept talking to me and rubbing her hands up and down my arm, but I barely registered it. I was too focused on Kwen. Most other women would be pissed that some other woman encroached on her personal time with me. Kwen doesn't even care. It's clear that Ma... Sar... Noe... this woman and I had s*x. But Kwen isn't phased by the idea at all. I frowned in frustration.
"Uh... hello?? Earth to Cersai. What's got you distracted. I know it can't be... this, sitting across from you?"
The proverbial record scratched to a halt, or at least that was the look on Kwen's face. She stopped pretending not to hear and gave this woman her full, undivided attention. I grumbled at her words. I also felt my wolf stir a little at her commentary concerning Kwen. Just as I was about to cuss her out and tell her to f**k off, Kwen beat me to it.
"Girlie bop, just cause he banged your brains out once or twice, don't mean you belong to him. A pretty face and muscles is all it took for you to buss it wide open for him. That ain't gonna work on me. I need a little more substance than that. But I can tell you one thing. You don't have but one more time to say some bull crap like that out your mouth about me and I'll substantially place my foot so far up your ass, that your teeth will become taps for the bottom of my shoes. Move on."
I was stunned silent, as was the woman still hanging on to me. I knew she could hold her own, but I never knew she could be this... descriptive. A chill ran down my spine as I gazed at the "no nonsense " look Kwen gave the woman. She swallowed shallowly, taking a step back. Kwen finally looked away from the woman and back to her books. Slowly, I felt a smile creep onto my face.
She really is something else.
That's when the woman found a sudden burst of courage, tightening her hold around my arm. I would've snatched it away, but I was definitely entertained and wanted to see where it would go.
"You know, you're right. He did f**k me good. Are you mad he'd never take you to bed?"
Kwen looked up, confusion written on her face.
"Damn, you still talking to me? Are you proud to be a c*m rag? I mean, aye. You like it, I love it."
I snorted out a laugh.
"Who do you think you are?! You-"
"I'm Kwenali Emeri Moore. A 17 year old, doing what you doing, but better and I will remain better. Look, I got work to do and you're wasting my time. So please go find someone who cares about what falls outta your mouth. I'm sure they only care about what goes in it, but that's between you and them."
The woman was gonna say something when another voice interrupted.
"What is this thing that's hanging onto you like that, Sei?"
I jumped and turned, surprised who I was seeing. The woman flipped around and her mouth damn near fell to the floor. My little sister sauntered up to our table, arms folded and a glare. My sister, who is a year older than Kwen, is the spitting image of my mother. She, too, has black hair, but hers is long, wavy and full. She has heterochromia, so her eyes are different colors. Her right is the same deep blue shade as mine and her left is a mixture of the blue and brown. I knew if I didn't cut in quickly, my sister would kill this girl. I looked at Kwen and she seemed more amused as she studied my sister's face. I hoped she didnt think my sister was another fling.
"Who- who are you? I'm Cersai's girlfriend. You need to leave us alone!"
The woman began to get too loud for my liking. People started looking at us, mainly cause we were still in the library. My sis stepped closer to the woman, towering over her since she is 5'10.
"Uhhh, listen here, little miss. You will never be more important than me where he's concerned. So stop tryna be. He don't want you. Get it into that big, dumb head of yours and lock it in. And it's clear you're interrupting their study session. The pretty girl behind you already told you in every way possible to keep it moving, and yet your still here. If you think she has embarrassed you, please don't let me do it. Your feelings would never recover. Now move."
The woman finally caught the hint and slinked away, quickly. My sister, after watching her walk away, turned back around, smiling from ear to ear at Kwen. Kwen didn't seem phased by it and smiled back at her.
"I don't know who you are, well, actually I do. Your Kwen. I heard you say that to the dumby that just left. Anyway, you were on fire, girl! I've never seen anyone kill someone's soul so nonchalantly. It was exquisite to watch. Is this how you got the socially, anti- social maniac to speak with you, let alone sit with you?"
"OK. That's enough."
"What? It's a good ass question."
She laughed, patting me on the shoulder. I rolled my eyes at her.
"I'm gonna assume that she's your sister?"
Kwen looked at me with a raised brow and a limp pointed finger at my sister.
"You've guessed right."
I said plainly.
"Kera, is my name. I'm surprised, most would assume I was his girlfriend.
Kwen chuckled and shook her head.
"Not at all. One, yall look alike. You're both so beautiful. Him, more so in a manly way. In the same breath, you're much to beautiful to date him."
Kwen teased, which caused Kera to bust out in laughter. She then jabbed my shoulder with her elbow.
"I like her. I'm definitely stealing her from time to time and I'm telling mommy and daddy about her."
I flipped my head to her.
"Why? Dont say anything about her to them. They won't li-"
I cut myself off. I almost exposed that I was a wolf. I looked over at Kwen, and she looked at me strangely. I cleared my throat.
"Umm, just leave it alone, Key."
I gave her a look that she knew meant I was begging her not to do anything stupid. She saw it and sighed.
"Fine. Fine, I won't."
"Beside, what are you doing here anyway?"
"Daddy got an emergency call. So he and mommy came down right away."
"Wait, both of them?"
I questioned. Now I was getting nervous. They never left the throne without one of them or their children home to watch it. So it had to be important for them both to come. I stood and faced Kera.
"Where are they?"
"Right behind you, son."
I froze. What the hell were they doing here?
I looked over Kera's shoulder and saw both my parents standing there. Immediately, I looked back at Kwen.
For f**k's sake.
