Ethan raced back to the apartment. Half the shoe rack in the entryway was empty. Only his shoes and Chloe's remained. When he opened the closet, every piece of Vivian's clothing was gone. Vivian's design sketches, the little things she kept on the nightstand, all her belongings were gone. He searched the entire apartment, even the storage area on the balcony. Sticky notes lay scattered across the floor from the bottom drawer. They held project reminders Vivian had written late at night, notes about his stomach problems, and lists of foods he liked or needed to avoid.
