Chapter 5 David awoke to the sound of someone screeching at him, in a dialect he had never heard before. He struggled to awaken. His head was sore and his bones ached. He could feel that he was moving, and that he was lying on something scaly and wet. Opening his eyes, he saw a river surrounding him, and grassy shores swiftly rushing past him. Looking down, he found that he was lying on something large, splotched with white, orange and brown. Two massive fins paddled on each side, and a long tail swiveled to and fro behind.
