Finally, my mom is getting discharged today. I could see the excitement written over her face as she emerged from the bathroom already dressed in the dress I brought from home for her.
Approaching the bed, she carefully placed the hospital gown on it. I could tell what was going on in her mind, she could hardly wait to leave the confines of the hospital.
"Ready, Mom?", I asked
"More than ever", she replied, a beautiful smile lighting up her face.
With my bag slung over my shoulder, I reached out and clasped her hand in mine as we both made our way out of the ward navigating our way towards the reception area. The doctor and nurses were all smiles as they saw us coming.
