CIARA'S POV I didn’t speak for a while after the healer said it. I just stared at her, my mouth dry, like it wasn’t my body she was talking about. Like it wasn’t my skin, my blood, or my bones that apparently held something as rare and strange as a tether to the source. How? How could that be possible? Was it because I’d come back?
