Chapter 17

1745 Words
Timothy’s p.o.v. Only God knows what I would want to do with Amara. There is almost always a disturbance, but this one came convenient. She exits the bedroom and I take the phone. “Son, I need you to hurry up. Your sister is freaking out.”, my mother says before I can properly answer the call. “Mom, we are almost ready to leave.”, I lie to not make her worried. “We?”, she asks curiously. “Yes, mother. That’s what I said, we.” “Who is your date, Timothy?” Pinching the bridge of my nose, I close my eyes and shake my head. Mothers. Opening my eyes, I look at the door, thinking of Amara waiting on me in the living. “You will meet her soon, mom. I have to go, otherwise I will be late.”, I tell her to get her mind of questioning me. Plus, I really do have to start getting dressed. “Is it someone I know?”, my mother asks suspiciously. “You might have heard about her.”, I say, walking to the closet to take my trousers from the hanger. “Is it a special somebody I know?” “Momma!” “Alright, alright. I will stop with the questions. I will just have to wait and meet the mysterious lady soon.”, my mother voicing her disappointment. “See you in a bit, son.” Before I can reply, the call was already ended by my mother. I roll my eyes at the thought of my mother, who will be nagging on my fathers head about the news. Putting on the suit jacket, I take my tie and go to the living. Amara is standing on the balcony, watching the garden. It is a beautiful sight to take in. The way that dress is hugging her. I am glad that we are going to spend some quality time on the island besides my sister’s wedding, for again, the things I want to do to her. “You ready, Love?”, I ask her, pulling her to my chest and giving her a light kiss on her temple. Amara hums a satisfied sigh at the touch. She turns around and gives me a smile. I put my tie around, and she takes it over and ties it for me. Positioning the tie perfectly, her fingers brush over my shoulders, and she gives me a kiss on the lips. “Now we are ready, Sir.”, she slurs seductively, biting her lower lip while taking me in fully. We have to go, otherwise I will not witness my sister getting married. Amara’s p.o.v. The island is even more beautiful than I have imagined it to be. Pictures don’t serve the experience. Timothy has been on edge for some reason since we came to Natural Bridge. Even though others haven’t noticed, I can feel it at the way he is holding on to me. The ceremony was short but sweet and good to eat. Which is an absolute plus in this burning heat. The newly weds rented an Airbnb for their time being on the island, and there is where we are heading to have dinner with the other guests. Hopefully, there is some time to actually interact with his loved ones. Timothy’s grip on my waist and his breathing seems to get stronger, every step we take closer to the vehicle. When I am about to let Timothy know that he is hurting me, I notice there is a brunette leaning against it. She smiles at me. It’s an insincere one. Her eyes are murderously glaring at me. The fakeness of this bish is radiating from her. Wtf? Who is she and what happened between them, that has Timothy this riled up. “Sir, you are hurting me.”, I whisper softly at Timothy, knowing he will hear me. He responds immediately by softening his grip on my waist, but he doesn’t let me go. “Timothy!”, the brunette squeaks with her annoying voice, which oddly sounds familiar. She waves with a huge smile. Timothy doesn’t respond with other than a disapproving huff, continuing our walk to the passenger’s side. “By your reaction, you really still believe that I would do such a despicable thing. So much you even brought a mistress to your sister’s wedding.”, the woman voices with hurt and disbelief. Mistress?!, I think, frowning my eyebrows. Timothy let out a sarcastic chuckle before he stopped and turned around, with me still glued to his hip. “You got some nerve. Your lies aren’t going to work.”, the anger in his voice fires strongly at the woman. “And a mistress?! This woman is the world to me. She is more woman than you ever will be. Apologize to my wife!” The shock and hurt in her eyes were evident for a brief moment. When she glanced at our hands, she got back in her comfort zone. She smirked with an evil glare at me. “I call bluff. Just admit, this is your revenge. You are forgiven. Just come home, baby.” Baby?!, but before I could even overthink anything, Timothy’s voice roars with anger. “BABY?!?!, who the f**k you are calling baby?! You are out of your goddamn mind!” “But, we are a couple.”, she whines. Timothy had a girlfriend already? I am confused and don’t feel comfortable. Slipping my hand of his waist, it falls down. I want to step away from him, let them sort out their s**t. But I am glued to the ground, plus I am still securely locked in Tim’s embrace. “Delusional woman.”, he says shaking his head. “To be a couple, both have to give consent to be with each other. I never have nor ever will agreed being with you. Leave me and my wife alone.” Tears starting to form in her eyes. “I know you love me. This isn’t over!”, she screams before turning on her heels and walk away. What the hell just happened?! Who is this woman and why is she claiming MY MAN!?! “Lets get in the car, Love.”, Timothy says to me. As much as I want to go off, I hear the anger and pain in his voice. Swiftly I look up at him and get my conformation, his eyes are full of hate. Still looking in front of him. I get in the car and he closes the door before walking over to the drivers side. “If you are ready to explain, I am all ears! Who the f**k was that?”, I burst out with annoyance. “She was not suppose to approach me, let alone us. She should know better after all these years. Sorry, Love, I should have known.”, he takes a deep breath to calm down further. “That was the obnoxious bish, Princess. Yes the very one that called to the office about 3 months ago. I know her since we were kids. Her parents and mine are good friends, our fathers often work together on projects.” He sighs while shaking his head, turning on the engine of the car. He drives off to our next location. Knowing my words are not going to contribute to his explaining, I bit on my lip harder than intended, while waiting for him to talk. “Princess apparently always had a crush on me. She followed me to my university, just to be close to me. Every opportunity she had, she was at my side. One night she confessed to me, but I never saw her as someone who I could fell in love with. She was like my little sister.” “I guess she didn’t take that at heart.”, I speak out my inner thoughts. “Damn right, she has not. I told her gently and she is throwing a major tantrum about it. Never thought she would still be in it.” He takes one hand off the steering wheel and takes mine in his, resting our intertwined fingers on his lap. “She is not done yet, she said it herself.”, he groans. “So I have to prepare myself? How bad can she get?”, I saying rolling my eyes thinking she couldn’t be that bad. “She drugged me.” The seriousness anger and coldness in his voice struck me with confusion mixed anger. “She did what?!”, I ask him in disbelieve. “She drugged me back in college, luckily my roommate stayed in that night, otherwise she would have succeed her plan.” “Plan?”, my stupid mouth sounded out my mind again. “I am sure she had a plan, even though I can’t be a 100% on point about it. But I am glad, Jeff was in that night.” “Oh wow, so she is cray to the max.”, I mumble, while trying to process the happening and information. “I am so sorry, you had to witness this.” “No, after what I just heard, no need for sorry.”, I tell him sincere, squeezing his hand gently. “How are you handling all of this? Everything you have told me just now, I assume it is the short story and still I have heard enough. Enough to say that she is absolutely crazy.” Timothy turns to me and looks at me with an anger, but I can see a faint hint of fear in his eyes. Never have I seen him worried about somebody or something, like he is now. “I am good, just pissed at her. You are right and I can’t say that you will be safe, so stay close to me.” “Timothy, now you are scaring me a bit. Close to you?” “Yes, please… She is absolutely oblivious to facts. I just want you to be safe.”, he looks at me shortly again, before concentrating back on the road. “Okay. Besides it is only for tonight. We will get through this evening by sticking together.”, I assure him and my mind.
