It was a little after 4:00 pm when we finally got back to the office. Karl, Amilah, and Crystal all sat at their normal round robin tables and Caelan went to sit with Crystal, so I grabbed Kendra’s hand and pulled her over to her table. She was a bit quieter than usual and seem to be in a distant place.
“Penny for your thoughts?” I asked softly pulling her back to me and her eyes filled with so much emotion, locked with mines.
“Your mom is Amazing. I was really nervous to meet her, but I think now it was better for us to have that time. I want my parents to see how comfortable I am with your parents.” She said with a smile and I grabbed her hand in mines and kissed the back of it.
