Chapter 4 The Witch and the warlock

Melody Landers Point of View "Wake up!" My mother shouted as I woke up hearing the panic of my mother’s voice. “There are some witches and a warlock in front of our house! Do you know them Mellow?” Her mom was worried that there is an issue happening. Witches meant danger, even for faeries. I open my eyes; I can see my mother’s worries face. Somehow, she wasn’t okay right now. “Mom don’t worry. They are friends of Benji.” I said assuring her nothing bad would happen any soon. “Oh, you didn’t tell me they are coming here.” My mom then began to walk out of my bedroom to open the door. She had always feared the witches. Because witches and our species had a war before because of a simple mistake the royal faeries did to them. Most witches had once killed a fairy. But now, those don’t happen often. Both witches and faeries have been enemies of the vampires. Wow, I didn’t know that I have knowledge of their history before. I was laying on my back then turned to my side. What should I do? Should I greet the visitors? I decided to get out of bed. My blue hair was in a big mess. I started to wonder if I had more time to fix myself to meet them. Never mind, I can make it quick. I went inside the bathroom. Our typical bathroom is always empty. The things are put in a long storage box hidden under the floor. I whispered a password: Landers are on land. I bent down and took out a medium sized bucket from the small storage. I used my magic to place water inside it. Covering my wings with the wing protection lotion beside other bathroom items for faeries. Applying it was fast when using my magic. I had to do it manually because I might get burnt out by using a lot of magic later.             I used the warm water produced from my powers to wash myself for a few minutes. I know I must be in a hurry but I just woke up. The witches and the warlock can wait. I then showered as the bucket was covered with a lid. The lid had holes on it so when I levitate the bucket, I can use it for the shower. The water started to rain on me. When I was done using my fairy products called Sleek Shampoo and conditioner, along with perfumed flower soap. I wore the clothes I pick and went out of the bathroom. I looked at the mirror to see if my outfit was good enough. I was wearing a midnight blue blouse, a light blue and white pencil skirt. My eyes where fine. Good thing I was in a good mood unlike yesterday when I got detention. I went down the stairs. Seeing Amethyst Hansen and Dusk Gavrilo for the first time. They are with a witch who I don’t know what her name was. All of them looked like they were from a fairytale story book written by famous fairies. “Hello, Melody Landers. Benji told us to meet you here. We invite ourselves to talk to you in private.” The warlock told me in a serious modulated voice. Dusk took a glass filled with a magic merry berry concoction my mom always makes. “I’m Dusk Gavrilo, I work for Amethyst. How do you know Benji? This, it really tastes good! What is this called?” He asked me, his grey eyes where amused. “It’s called Merry Berry, it makes you feel more welcome around us, faeries. I met Benji at the University of Fay.” Dusk began to take out something from his robe, it was a lilac silk pouch with pink, purple and blue beads at the end of the string that is closing it. “Well met Melody, I’m Amethyst.” Amethyst have white skin and black rune tattoos on her arms, neck, and legs, curly black and purple ombre hair, eyes that are forest green, an oval shaped face and overall; she looks strange but brilliant. She wore a blue robe over her black tribal outfit. Dusk handed me the pouch. It looked pretty. “A token for our gratitude.” He grinned, I took it from him and smiled back. “Thank you, Amethyst and Dusk. Who is the witch with you?” I pointed at the brunette witch standing in an orange robe, she looked a bit troubled. “Melody, she isn’t physically here. She is actually my spirit protector. My beloved sister.” That sounded quite spooky for me. I tried to touch her but she slightly faded and my hand passed through thin air. I looked at dusk in his emerald green robe with golden and dark green checkered squares. He had platinum blonde hair. I only noticed his appearance now, he looked like in his mid-30s. “By the way, we put your mum to sleep. She is upstairs in her bedroom.” Amethyst informed me. She smiled in mischief, a scroll appeared, it floated midair and she took out her quill. “Let us begin our meeting.” Dusk told me with excitement. We started the meeting and began talking. I said what I wanted and in return they asked me a huge favor. I couldn’t resist their offer.   Chapter 4 part two. Wren Milford “Benji, I know you had a deal with those witches and the warlock. Why did you make them visit Melody early this morning!” I was angry that he agreed. Witches and Warlocks are considered as dangerous creatures. “Dude, you should calm down. They can benefit our group well enough.” I saw Melody’s house with the two creatures. I didn’t know what I feel… I only wanted Melody to be safe and protected. I don’t admit I love Mel; she is beautiful, sexy and everything a male fay wants. A sudden ring from the outside was heard. Benji ignored and looked at someone behind me. “Wren, I think someone is at the door.” I slightly turned my head to see my little sister, maybe she saw me and Benji having an argument. I went to open the door. At first nobody was there. Not even an animal, it was strange since the doorbell had rung earlier. “Who’s there?” I asked Benji and my sister Sally. Nobody knew who rang the doorbell. A sudden chilly wind passed through me. It gave me goose bumps as I managed my fears. I then saw a dark figure appeared. It wore a black veil and dress. I don’t know if whether she is a spirit or not. “Who are you?” Benji asked the figure. “I’m here because I brought both of you something from Amethyst.” The woman said, I remembered that witches mostly have familiars in black clothing or white clothing. “You are her familiar right?” I asked her then she removed her veil to respond. She was a familiar who wore silver chains as a necklace. “Yes of course I am, in fact you see my chains. I work for her and Dusk as an apprentice and familiar. This cost me my soul to the devil. I need you both to receive this message, Melody agreed to do my boss a favor.” She handed me a crisp black paper. “We must save Amethyst’s sister from the Vampires in 3 nights and days?” I asked her as I read the note. Benji took it out of my hand. “This sounds hard actually.” Benji says with doubt in his face. “She is imprisoned and soon they will make her spirit disappear, sucking out her blood and in the end she will vanish forever.” The familiar spoke her name; Kendra Moon. I then noticed she was floating until a swirl of black smoke covered her slowly. “I must go, you have to keep that note until you save Penelope.” She disappeared into this air. The remaining smoke faded away. “Wren, how the hell are we going to save her?” Benji asked me. Sally tugged the bottom of my shirt for me to notice her. “Brother? I don’t understand… Do you have to leave me alone? I don’t want to stay here by myself while you have a mission!” She showed me an angry look when I shook my head. My sister went straight into her room banging the door.   The reason why my sister will be alone is because our parents work in another world: The human world called earth. I never believed in such a place. It was 6 years ago when they left. Now what remains in this house was me and my sister only. We don’t know our other relatives; they were never mentioned to us by our parents. “Sibling issues. Good thing I didn’t have any.” Benji then took out his pocket knife and sharpened it with a stone. “This knife is my family heirloom.” He showed it to me, it had an ancient fairy language I can’t decipher. “What does it say?” I asked him, glancing at his position. He was now sitting down on a wooden chair facing me. “You get what you want if you always believe and trust your shadows.” It was a simple quote but I knew it had a deeper meaning to it. “Does it mean that I should always trust my other self?” I asked him. His red eyes then looked at me, he was about to say something but no words where uttered from him. “The shadows represent your gut or consciousness. Your inner self that only a few can see. The saying may mean that you should believe in what you do and learn to love and trust what is in your mind.” I wish Melody was here to hear what he said. Then again, he stayed silent. Both of us are waiting for our leader to arrive at my house. “I know you are doubting yourself Wren. You are in-between being in love with Melody or not. If you think that she is the right faerie for you. I think both of us will have problems in our relationship.” Benji said, no wonder why he had always said yes to whatever Melody needs help with. “You like her too, don’t you?” I asked him, he shrugged his shoulders, bobbed his head up and down. “I knew it.” I and Benji began to be in a circle of awkward silence. “I like her but I cannot have an intimate relationship with her yet. Commitments scare me.” He told me as I crossed my arms. I walked near his seat. “You shouldn’t be afraid Ben; you are a dark shadow faerie and shouldn’t be scared of having a relationship with a girl.” He looked at me and began to think of something. “Just because I am a dark fay doesn’t mean I won’t be afraid of anything Wren.” His red eyes glowed for a while; the window of my house flung open as his jet-black hair got messy by the wind. I approached the window to close it. I saw a white spider with black markings saying; "Beware of the Moon, you have until 12 noon.”
