Her tired eyes turned into a bright shining blue shade. “Stop that Ms. Landers!” Melody managed to control her bursting anger towards the teachers. She was pissed off because she only did a minor mistake: Sleeping. “I’m sorry Mrs. Bilborne…” She then mumbled curses which Claire didn’t hear. “Okay now get out and go to your offended teachers!” Benji and Melody stormed out of the room, fluttering their wings.
Benji glanced at Melody, arriving in front of the open gates of the university. “We should have gone to Mr. Sham and whoever teacher you pranked. Next Tuesday will be your suspension.” Melody’s soft tone made Benji guilty of escaping Ms. Marva. “You are right, I should have taken the pass and get shouted at.” He said in a mocking voice. “You know we can’t get in class tomorrow if we don’t get it.” Benji shrugged and didn’t like debates against Melody. “Right, like I care about that!” Melody flew back inside to find Mr. Sham, leaving Benji alone as he escapes. Mr. Sham was in the Dean’s office.
Melody twisted the doorknob to open it slightly. “The Queen of Fay got killed, now the Vampires took over! Such evil creatures don’t deserve a place on this island. Those Bloodsuckers drank her blood. Now the school might close after some decree was signed by Queen Bree Guinevere.” The Dean told Mr. Sham with a little anger she kept this morning.
Melody gasped; how can this be? Mr. Sham noticed the door was slightly opened. “Excuse me Dean Galathea.” He approached the door and Melody were seen near the office’s door. “Are you eavesdropping Ms. Landers?” She was very obvious which made her nod, to be honest. “You must forget what you heard. I’m going to get you a pass. I noticed only two students got into detention. Who was the gothic fairy with you?”
“Benji Arleen, sir.” Mr. Sham got out of the Dean’s office. Melody followed him as he entered the faculty room. He opened his desk drawer. Took out the small paper and gave it to Melody. “You may now leave Ms. Landers.” Melody left the office and went straight home. She opened the main door of her home. “Hi, mom!” Melody noticed the Radio was speaking loudly across the house. “The Vampire Queen also known as Queen Bree Guinevere wants the Fay to be her slaves! How outrageous it is!” The radio swiftly announced.
“That’s awful.” Her mother dropped a plate she was cleaning. It shattered into pieces of sharp shards. Her mother stopped the radio and uses her magic to levitate the shards and place them in the bin. “Oh, hello there Sweety. Didn’t notice you arrive just now.” Melody began to think of something, an idea she wanted to share. “Mom, I need to apply for a job. I only need 20 reckles and 50 masin coins. Enough for me to live alone independently.”
Mrs. Landers nodded and grab the coins her daughter needs and placed them on Melody’s palm. “It might not be enough; you can use it anytime. The problem was the Vampires took down our queen. Our currency might get lower than expected.” Her mom was right. She then thought of thieves who steal to survive. “Mom, I’ll go to my room.” She can’t tell her mother that she wanted to be a thief.
Melody went upstairs into her room. The silence lingered across the room. She imagined voices singing sweetly. Little pixies were flying in her room. She always took care of the pixies named Linda, Avah, and Winna. All of the pixies are happy as they greeted their Fay master. Melody greeted them; their tiny voices can only be understood by the fay.
Avah pinched Melody’s ear slightly. “Is there a problem buddy?” Winna asked Melody. “I think I do, have you guys heard of the news? The vampire queen is turning us Faeries into slaves, I don’t know why. I have a plan but I won’t tell you at the moment.” Linda then groaned; “Tell us now Melo!” She pleaded. “I can’t, it’s a secret. I don’t want anyone to know first yet.” The little pixies who are about 16 centimeters tall respected her.
She then noticed a photo of her father on top of her desk. Her father is part of the Fay army, he always was at work. Melody has never been able to communicate with him properly. They sent each other about 3 letters per year. Her father was busy like her mother. Silvia Landers is her mother’s name while her father is Jaycob Landers. “Dad? What should I do to save ourselves from s*****y?” She asked even though she thought she already knew the answer.
Melody was now confused and doubting herself, she sat on her bed and watched the pixies go into their pixie houses in the corner of the room. “Wren…Benji…I hope you will agree to join me.” In her thoughts of how to survive a massive change in society. All her ambitious dreams felt far away from her. Unable to be part of her at the moment. Minutes later she went to sit down on her desk. She will write about a plan to be free from this oppression.
If it is the only way to survive, she needs to find people who will help her in her plot of a heist. She decided that she will recruit Benji and Wren as soon as she sees them tomorrow. She will look for other candidates who are interested. All the people she will invite are from University, listing their names down so that she could ask them tomorrow.
Thus, creating a group called The Marauder Fairies. A secret society of rebel thieves who goes against the royal vampires. Melody placed the coins her mother gave to her on her study table piggy bank. She began to write down her plans to take down Queen Bree Guinevere. Melody let out a soft chuckle. She was serious enough to create something out of the trouble the Faerie world in.
