I was late to school the next day, but that was alright. When I told my teacher I was at the hospital, they spared me the lecture.
During the switch from first period to second period, I went hunting for Nikita.
She ended up finding me first.
She hugged me from the back and kissed my cheek. “Hey Nate!”
I smiled. “Can I ask you for a favor?”
She didn’t hesitate at all. “Sure!”
“Do you mind coming to see my sister with me after I finish work?” I asked.
She smiled. “Of course not! I’d love to come!”
“Awesome… alright. I’ll pick you up at seven then?”
“No, no, that’s fine. I’ll come. It won’t take me too long to walk to my dad’s shop. Plus, my mom always has something that she wants me to give him. So I’ll meet you at my dad’s shop at seven.”
“Oh, are you sure that’s fine?” I asked.
