Still maintaining that charged silence, Daniel lightly squeezed her knees, then began to make circles with his thumb on their sides. It could have been any movement, nothing alarming, but the way he looked at her while doing it, the way his gaze was heavy and intense, made it seem like he was touching her knee while imagining touching other parts.
