Itzal spent the rest of Tuesday morning thinking about Amelia's trial. Of all the things that could have bothered him about what she said, it was her vulnerability when talking about her expulsion from her former pack that unsettled him the most. When Itzal first saw her rejection mark, he had the impression that Amelia was just another unfaithful female being punished, even though he thought the punishment was extreme and unnecessary. But it was becoming increasingly difficult to associate Amelia with the image of a worthless female. She was too fragile and naive for that. And now he knew she had been promised to a male. Did that mean the mark on her chest was made because she had betrayed a male who wasn't her mate? Because Itzal could understand the betrayal if that were the case. T
